Jupiter Trine Pluto ~ July 7, 2011

Original image source unknown.

Last month, Jupiter entered Taurus on June 4th, then immediately linked up with Neptune (insight/spirituality/the subconscious) on June 8th. And last weekend on July 2nd, Jupiter aligned with Chiron (what's broken and needs healing). Now, Jupiter trines Pluto on July 7th.

A trine is harmonious alignment between at least two planets. Jupiter trine Pluto offers a chance to overcome difficulties. Perhaps, a breakthrough resulting from a breakdown or a transformation through surrender/the act of relinquishing control...in release, we stumble onto the answer we've been searching for or the clarity we've been seeking. In letting go, we rise above and are able to 'see' the bigger picture which enables us to carve a path towards our destination.

With Pluto involved, there must first be a confrontation of truth, of recognizing our own on shadows, of becoming aware of unhealthy habits or patterns. Through that process of realization, there must then be a 'death', elimination, purging before there can be a renewal, a transformation, a breakthrough.

Jupiter reminds us of the best that life can offer, gives hope, offers opportunities, expands our horizon, and fosters personal growth. Pluto is the (dwarf) planet of power, able to regenerate, renew, transform through digging deeper and deeper until the root cause is revealed so that it can be destroyed, expunged. Both Jupiter and Pluto transit earth signs (Jupiter in Taurus & Pluto in Capricorn) so, for most of us their influence could be something related to our material world -- security, income, structure, a change in what's been the norm/accepted?

This can also be experienced as a grounding/stabilizing energy following the Jupiter sextile Neptune which may have opened our spiritual eyes onto something we've been missing, and Jupiter sextile Chiron where old wounds might have resurfaced so healing can occur.

Jupiter trine Pluto occurs on July 7th at 6 degrees. Those celebrating a birthday on the days approaching to this trine's perfection may find this energy present throughout their Solar Return year (astrological birthday year).

This is the first of three occurrences. Jupiter will once again trine Pluto on:
  • October 28, 2011 at 5 degrees and 19 minutes
  • March 12/13, 2012 at 9 degrees and 19 minutes
Those with natal planets/house angles around these degrees may experience this Jupiter-Pluto trine more powerfully than others.

For me, with my natal Cancer-Sun at 5 degrees, Jupiter sextiles my Sun while Pluto opposes it. Pluto additionally squares my natal Uranus (triggering the natal square between my Sun and my Uranus) and sextiles my North Node (triggering my natal Sun-North Node sextile and Uranus-North Node quincunx)...which means, I better change or else!! I wouldn't want to find out the 'or else', especially with the recent Cancer-Solar Eclipse square my Chiron (what's broken and needs healing).

How might Jupiter trine Pluto manifest in your world? Look to the Capricorn and Taurus-ruled houses in your natal and/or solar charts to gain insight and see if you have natal planet/house angles on or around 6 degrees of fixed or cardinal signs.

Unsure if you have natal planets/house planets near 6 degrees of fixed and/or mutable signs? Cast your own birth chart at alabe.com for use as reference -- birth date, time, and place required.

Alternatively, I am also available for personal consultations tailored to your needs. Are you celebrating a birthday? Or know someone who is? Venus in Cancer ~ July 3/4 to 28, 2011

False color image of Venus' clouds as seen by the SSI instrument on Galileo. © NASA

Love and relationship take on a more serious tone as Venus leaves light and carefree Gemini for the deep, complex waters of Cancer. Venus enters Cancer on July 3rd at 9:17 p.m. PDT / July 4th at 12:17 a.m. EDT, where she stays until July 28th. Venus governs love, relationships of all types, our values/value system, and worth (self-worth/material worth).

In Gemini, Venus is less complex, requires mental stimulation and is driven by logic. In Cancer, Venus is sensitive, emotional, loving, maternal, and is driven by intuition. At best, is nurturing, intuitive, protective, sincere, loyal. At worst, unsure, needy, confused, manipulative, moody, vengeful.

Cancer is the first zodiac sign to think about others, to consider someone else's wellbeing other than that of the self beginning with family (biological or otherwise). Venus in Cancer reminds us that there is more to love and relationships than what I need or want (Venus in Aries), what I own or can get (Venus in Taurus), or what makes sense and can be explained (Mercury in Gemini). Venus in Cancer encourages us to nurture relationships with those we care for and set aside time for things that matter to us, for those people/things/activities make loving and living more worthwhile.

As we treasure one another, we invest our time, give our love, and entrust parts of the self to that person. We become vulnerable to another being, as that person also opens himself/herself to us. Caring for another or others requires emotional support and sensitivity to their needs and not our own. Matters of the heart cannot always be understood with words, reason or logic. Emotions are raw and valid with their own merit. They are sourced within the self and the 'why' is sometimes inexplicable. In issues relating to finances, Cancer is less frivolous than Gemini. Perhaps this can be a time for planning on saving for a rainy day or anticipating future needs or tightening the spending plan and sticking to it. Cancer is also the first water sign of the zodiac so there is sensitivity to the unseen world. We all have some degree of intuitive ability. Tap into yours during Venus' transit in Cancer.

Cancer also governs the 4th astrological house. Venus in Cancer might be a time where you spend money, time, and energy on your home. Maybe have more quality time with family. Or something more basic like honoring your private life, especially if you've been too busy catering to others (at work, with friends or family).

On the day Venus enters Cancer, she quickly makes friends with Jupiter (ideals/opportunities), Neptune (hopes/dreams), then Chiron (wounds/healing). Elsewhere in the sky, Jupiter is also still linked with Chiron while Mercury (thought/communication) allies with Uranus (awareness/radical change). Keep a look out for opportunities, even from the most unlikely places or sources. Think out of the box when brainstorming or troubleshooting. Listen to your intuitive self more. Awareness. Acceptance. Release. Transformation.

How might Venus' transit in Cancer manifest in your world? Look to the natal house/s ruled by Cancer in your birth chart. Match the sign with the house cusps on your birth chart. What significance do planets, signs, and houses have in astrology? Planets have the function, the job to do. The style/manner they will use get that job done is defined by the zodiac sign they occupy. Where in our life the job gets done is determined by the house the planet occupies/transits. So, when Mars (aggression) is in Aries (bold), he is more assertive than when he is in Cancer (sensitive). When traveling through the 10th house (professional life), he may bring his confidence and motivation in matters relating to our career. While in the 11th house (friendships), we may be more inclined to having our social calendar packed with activities. Jupiter Sextile Chiron ~ July 2, 2011

Original image source unknown.

With the Eclipsed New Moon in Cancer having just occurred the previous day, the perfection of Jupiter sextile Chiron encourages and allows for whatever healing we may need in our lives. Perhaps, we've lost hope or trust in ourselves/others/the universe. Maybe, we've been afraid to face facts or step out and take a chance to make a real change. Or we've seen what's real, become aware of the true nature of the challenges we face now and are feeling frustrated, angry, confused, desperate, or even betrayed.

Jupiter reminds us of the best that life can offer, gives hope, offers opportunities, and expands our horizon. Chiron has a way of unmasking our wounds, revealing our deepest pain/disappointments/loss, and through facing them, we are made whole. Jupiter represents expansion, luck, happiness, and abundance. He is currently in Taurus, where his energy seeks comfort and stability. Chiron symbolizes what's broken, needs healing, and our capacity to help others through their healing process. He is presently in the super compassionate and uber-intuitive sign of Pisces.

Jupiter's sextile to Chiron reminds us to breathe, have faith, and let the healing process run its course -- may it be physical, mental, emotional, psychological, or financial healing. The work, however, must always begin with the self; this time especially, with the New Moon/Solar Eclipse preceding Jupiter's sextile to Chiron. What we sow is what we reap. Where our attentions are focused on, our realities become them. "Energy flows where attentions goes."

If you're like me, you've been diligently and consciously steering your thoughts and energy toward what's positive, uplifting, and towards the goal. Yet, your reality seems to fight you every step of the way. If you're wondering, "how can it be that my thoughts and attentions are truly focused on the outcome desired, yet the hurdles I have to jump over doesn't look to have an end anytime soon?"

For me, the answer was me -- it was me I had to first change. Maybe that's Capricorn-Pluto opposing my Sun while Aries-Uranus square my Sun and oppose my Uranus talking, but I realized my thoughts are focused on one thing while my actions reflect something else entirely. They're both equally important -- what I have my sights set on (reflect my thoughts) and what my world in the physical plane requires of me (reflect my actions). I had to make changes and somehow fit into my already full schedule, time for what will help me accomplish my other set of goals...the ones I'm truly passionate about. Pluto is forcing me to eliminate (square to my Sun), as Uranus pushes me to break away (square my Sun) and carve out a new path (oppose my Uranus), while the Solar Eclipse in my sign casts a spotlight on me.

June began with a Gemini-Solar Eclipse (where we were asked to completely 'see' things as they truly are); followed by Jupiter sextile Neptune (where we were asked, "what's your dream?"); then came the Lunar Eclipse (that brought out questions about our life direction); as if all that heavy, intense energy weren't enough, we find ourselves with yet another Solar Eclipse, in Cancer this time (where we were once again thought this time, forced to 'see' our reality). And now, here we are with an offering for healing with Jupiter and Chiron. Next week, Jupiter and Pluto (transformation), both in Earth signs, become allies to offer up some sense of grounding while we begin or continue to go through the changes required of us.

Jupiter sextile Chiron occurs on July 2nd at 5° 14' of Taurus (fixed sign) and Pisces (mutable sign). Those born around February 22-25 and April 24-27 or those with natal planets/house angles near 6° of fixed and/or mutable signs may be more sensitive to this Jupiter-Chiron sextile. Those celebrating a birthday on the days approaching to this sextile's perfection may find this energy present throughout their Solar Return year (astrological birthday year).

This is the first of three occurrences. Jupiter will once again sextile Chiron on December 6, 2011 at zero° 57' and a final time on February 15, 2012 at 4° 32'. Those with natal planets/house angles near these degrees or have a strong Chironic influence in their birth chart may experience this Jupiter-Chiron sextile more thoroughly than others.

Unsure if you have natal planets/house planets near 6° of fixed and/or mutable signs? Cast your own birth chart at alabe.com for use as reference -- birth date, time, and place required.

Mercury in Leo ~ July 2/3 to 28, 2011

Lion. Original image source unknown.

Mercury rises from the deep waters of Cancer to begin his transit in courageous Leo starting July 2nd at 10:38 p.m PDT / July 3rd at 1:38 a.m. EDT until July 28th. Mercury governs our mental activities, way of communicating, and how we move from one place to another. The zodiac sign Leo is ruled by the Sun and is brave, bold, loyal, dramatic, social, confident, and generous.

In Cancer, our minds/thoughts are concerned with others' well-being, we are sensitive to our intuitive abilities, and are aware that there is more than reason or logic to consider when making a decision. In Leo, our minds are enthusiastic, our communication marked with a flare for theatrics, our interactions warm and filled with fun, our form that of a leader, and our temperament stubborn.

Mercury in Leo encourages us to think without limitations, speak decisively, be collaborative with creative projects, and write with the brilliance of a sunny Leo. Be persuasive without force. Be authoritative, but not opinionated. Be a leader minus the inflated ego. Remain prideful without being pretentious. Let's become bigger than we are and set our sights ... our standards high.

This year, Mercury's transit in Leo is preceded by New Moon/Solar Eclipse (renewals) and influenced by hopeful Jupiter (opportunities) alignments with Chiron (healing) and Pluto (transformation). If you happen to find yourself "stuck" or lacking direction, allow Mercury's confidence in Leo to help you reconnect with your deepest desires and spark love/creativity/passion within yourself that propels your decision-making to mirror your true self. With the help of the new moon phase and Jupiter sextile Chiron/Pluto, release the old, eliminate what's unnecessary, purge what no longer serves, and replace them with openness to welcome/receive what is divinely yours.

How might Mercury's transit in Leo influence your world? Look to the Leo-ruled house/s in your birth chart. Match the sign with the house cusp/s on your birth chart. Use the list of zodiac signs below to identify the Leo zodiac sign on your birth chart then click here for a brief explanation of Mercury transiting those houses.

New Moon/Solar Eclipse in Cancer ~ July 1, 2011

Bodø, Norway. The rare "midnight eclipse" began on Thursday, June 2, 2011, but crossed the International Date Line to end on Wednesday, June 1. (via space.com)

The third of three consecutive eclipses is upon us. This New Moon/Solar Eclipse in Cancer happens on July 1st at 1:54 a.m. PDT / 4:54 a.m. EDT. New Moons signify rebirth, beginnings, a clean slate, the start of a new cycle. The new moon highlights Cancer qualities (intuitive, instinctive, protective, sensitive) and 4th house themes (family, home, roots, foundation, the past). Eclipses are extra powerful new and full moons.

Here's a brief explanation taken from my original post on understanding eclipses:Eclipses, in astrology, are accelerators. They speed up events, issues, situations in our personal lives and demand for them to be dealt with.

Eclipses trigger necessary changes to one's journey in life. Because these changes are triggered outside of one's own volition, they are often harsh, sudden and undeniable. The initial shock evoke sadness, confusion, frustration, anger, worry and, possibly, depression. However, it is our reaction past the initial shock that defines how we will allow these eclipses to influence us.

Cancer is natively ruled by the Moon, which makes this New Moon a powerful one. Couple that with the energy of an eclipse, and we can really make things happen for us. Where will our attention be focused? What actions will we take? How will we take advantage of this energy for us, those we love, the things we hope for?

The Eclipsed Cancer-New Moon (blending of heart & soul) squares stern Saturn (reality/restriction). Saturn's influence can be a sobering one, but may not necessarily be a welcomed sobriety. Elsewhere in the sky, Jupiter (happiness/ideals) and Chiron (wounds/healing) offer their help, as they harmoniously align with one another. No matter how harsh the truth (Saturn) of our situations may be, there is hope (Jupiter), healing (Chiron), and a chance for renewal where we need it most. But it will take facing our challenges (Saturn) and that may begin with ourselves (new moon). How are we holding ourselves back? Are we living in the past? Are we applying the same tired ways of doing/seeing/reasoning? What are we turning a blind eye on? Are our fears the driving force behind our actions/inaction/decisions/indecision? And how is that working out?

Last year's Eclipsed Cancer-New Moon occurred when celestial skies were intensified by the 2010 cardinal t-square. This year's New Moon/Solar Eclipse in Cancer follows two powerful eclipses, Gemini-Solar Eclipse on June 1st (pictured above) and Sagittarius-Lunar Eclipse on June 15th. For many of us, myself included, life since mid-May has been served with an extra helping of difficulties and stress...oops, I mean challenges and opportunities for growth :) I have a co-worker who flips frustrating situations with something positive by calling those experiences 'opportunities for growth'. I like it. I thought I'd borrow from her and share with you :)

This is the last of the Cancer-Capricorn set of eclipses that began in 2009. I don't even have enough words to describe how incredibly excited I am that it's over! Although we have all had our own personal experiences with these eclipses, those with cardinal Suns or Risings and especially those in the early degrees of cardinal signs (with Pluto poking at their Sun or house angles since 2009 plus last year's surge of tense energies brought on by the t-square) may have been undeniably influenced by these Cancer-Capricorn eclipses. How has life changed for you?

This solar eclipse/new moon occurs at 10 degrees of Cancer. Those born within 3 days of July 1st or December 31st; or have planets/house angles around 9-10 degrees of cardinal signs may experience the effects of this eclipsed new moon stronger than most.

For me, this New Moon falls in my solar 1st house (self/potential) as a Cancer-Sun and natal 10th house (career/goals) as a Virgo-rising; and square my Chiron (ouch!). Who am I (1st house) and where am I going (10th house)? I know who I am ... or do I? It doesn't seem like my life has changed much. Maybe because I'm living it, day by day. Since 2009, I lost my father and gained a spiritual guide; I moved across the country and back to my hometown and family; I started (and continue to) maintain this blog; I had a job, quit that job, worked from home, started a new job, and all the while, continue to give astro readings; I got out of debt, got back in debt, and getting out of debt again. So, I guess there have been changes :) Not just in my tangible world, but in my inner sanctum, as well. I have grown through experience. Surely, that affects what I want in my life now. What I set out to do two years ago or last year may have morphed into a different set of goals/aspirations. hmmm.... Well, here's a new moon for my new beginning...

Sun in Cancer ~ June 21 to July 22/23, 2011

Summer is here! (well, for us northern hemisphere folks, anyway :) The Sun joins Mercury and begins his transit in my Sun sign, Cancer, on June 21st at 10:16 a.m. PDT / 1:16 p.m. EDT, where he'll remain until July 22nd (PDT) / July 23rd (EDT). The Sun represents the self we present to the external world, our vital life force, potential, ambitions, intentions, and unrealized/untapped inherent talents/skills.

In Gemini, the Sun is outgoing, chatty, animated, and cerebral. In Cancer, the Sun's energy is focused on the inner workings of the self -- who we are, what we desire, who/what motivates us -- rooted at our hearts and the emotional side of the self. Most Cancer-Suns initially react from the heart and are not necessarily moved by reason or practicality, especially if their gut feelings urge them otherwise. The cardinal sign of Cancer represents our roots, our families, the past, the home, and our emotions. Cancer is sensitive, intuitive, and maternal. She is ruled by the Moon, who moves approximately one degree every 2.5 hours and changes signs (personalities) every 2.5 days, which may help with Cancer-Suns unfortunate reputation of being 'moody' :(

The Sun in Cancer encourages us all to be more attuned to our emotions, sensitivities, intuition, and value our private life enough to give it as much effort as our external drives. This transit period is ideal for reconnecting with family members who we may have neglected but are significant to us; remembering the past (both painful and happy memories) that has helped shape who we are today; spending more time with our immediate family and letting our actions mirror our love for them; and finding balance between satisfying our conscious will and our deepest heart's desires.

This year on July 1st, we'll have a New Moon / Solar Eclipse in Cancer which will be the third consecutive eclipse since June and the last of the Cancer-Capricorn series of eclipses. I, for one, am happy that set of eclipses is over! With Gemini-Sagittarius eclipses in full swing until 2013 and stimulating my natal 4th (home/family) and 10th (career/future goals) houses, I can go without Cancer-Capricorn eclipses all over my solar 1st (self/potential) and 7th (relationships) houses :)

Mars in Gemini ~ June 20 to August 3, 2011

Statue de Mars ornant la Porte de Paris à Lille via Wikimedia Commons

Mars breaks away from Taurean energy. In Taurus, Mars is steady, prudent, and reliable which can sometimes be restrictive. Mars is the planet of action, energy, and movement, after all. He represents our physical drives, aggression, passions, anger, self-assertion, confidence, and the motivation behind our efforts.

Mars' move to the sign of Gemini offers him a chance roam more freely. In Gemini, Mars' energies are driven by mental activities and intellectual pursuits. In his rage, he might take up words as his weapon while he fights in a heated debate. His passions rise with mental stimulation. Mars in Gemini is ready to act and take up multiple tasks.

This period is great for getting a lot of things done quickly. All that was decided upon and planned while Mars was in Taurus can now be started or continued and concluded during this period. So, just move down the checklist of your "to do" items and let's get some things accomplished!

One thing to watch out for -- in Gemini, Mars may lack focus. Energies and efforts may be scattered. Projects get started but don't get finished. So, make sure to give Mars in Gemini explicit instructions and specific tasks in order to give the Gemini energy concentration.

For those with their natal Mars in Gemini, you'll have your Mars Return which occurs approximately every two years. This a great time to make movements on future plans or take action on shorter-term goals. Look to the house placement and natal aspects to your natal Mars to get an idea of what may be highlighted/triggered during your Mars Return. Some people find this period ideal for making career-related plans.

This year, Mars transits Gemini beginning on June 20th at 7:50 p.m. PDT / 10:50 p.m. EDT until August 3rd. Upon entering Gemini, Mars will quickly squares Neptune while the Cancer-Sun trines Neptune. These first few days (June 20-23) when both Mercury (thought/communication) and the Sun (conscious will/potential) aligning with Neptune (compassion/spirituality) can be a time when our actions can be inspired and motivated by selfless drives. At worst, this can be a few days of 'escaping' and being out of sync from reality or responsibilities.

How might Mars' transit in Gemini manifest in your world? Look to the Gemini-ruled house/s in your birth chart. Match the sign with the house cusp/s on your birth chart. Mercury in Cancer ~ June 16 to July 2/3, 2011

Blue crab © St. Croix Environmental Information Repository

Mercury leaves the light, logical realm of Gemini and braves the watery depths of Cancer. Mercury governs all manners of thinking, communication, schooling, commerce, short travel and siblings.

In Gemini, our minds are quick to think and move on, our thoughts logical, our words articulate, and truth may unfold through reasoning. In Cancer, our minds need to believe or feel what we think, our thoughts rooted at the heart, our words driven by emotions, and truth may be revealed through intuition. Cancer is the first water sign of zodiac, feminine (receptive), cardinal (creative/leader), and governed by the Moon. Cancer represents our inner sanctum, emotions, intuition, and matters relating with women.

While Mercury is in Cancer, we are reminded that our words have meaning, beyond the obvious. Mere words can uplift or discourage; bring joy or sadness, comfort or frustration, courage or fear; confidence or doubt; facilitate peace or incite war; express love or hate. What we communicate and express are seeded at the thought level.

Mercury in Cancer encourages us to seed our thoughts with consideration that our spoken and written words illicit emotional responses as well as academic or intellectual ones -- our thoughts and words rooted from our intent.

This year, Mercury's transit through Cancer begins on June 16th at 12:09 p.m. PDT / 3:09 p.m. EDT and ends on July 2nd (PDT) / July 3rd (EDT).

How might Mercury's transit in Cancer have an influence on you? Look to the Cancer-ruled house/s in your birth chart. Match the sign with the house cusp/s on your birth chart. Use the list of zodiac signs below to identify the Cancer zodiac sign on your birth chart then click here for a brief explanation of Mercury transiting those houses.

Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius ~ June 15, 2011

March 21, 2011 Supermoon at Glastonbury via Anorak News

March 21, 2011 Supermoon at Glastonbury via Anorak News

Here comes the second of three consecutive eclipses this summer (or whatever season it may be in your part of the globe :) This is also the first Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius in the Gemini-Sagittarius series of eclipses that began December 21, 2010. The most recent eclipse occurred just two weeks before on June 1st with a Solar Eclipse in Gemini.

Here's a little recap of what eclipses represent in astrology. The days, sometimes weeks, approaching to an eclipse create intense and impatient energy. There's a bit of chaos and the feeling/fear of being out of control with what's happening all around, especially in each of our immediate environment and personal lives. This might be because eclipses, in astrology, are accelerators. They speed up events, issues, situations in our personal lives and demand for them to be dealt with. Eclipses are supercharged full and new moons with influence extending up to six months.

The degree of difficulty depends on the readiness of the individual to tackle these challenges, his/her willingness to do the work required, and his/her commitment to the cause/s which is really the self and its growth. The level of influence an eclipse or set of eclipses have also depends on individual birth charts.

That said, let's move on to this month's Full Moon in Sagittarius (at 1:14 p.m. PDT / 4:14 p.m. EDT), which also happens to be a Lunar Eclipse (at 1:12 p.m PDT / 4:12 p.m. EDT). Full Moons signify endings, the culmination of what may been initiated during the previous New Moon in Gemini, which challenged us to 'see' things/situations/events for what they really are and no more turning a blind eye or escaping in wishful thinking, but instead, time to break away from what's been holding us back.

This Eclipsed Sagittarius-Full Moon (heart/inner core), while seeking balance/harmony with the Gemini-Sun (soul/conscious will) and Mercury (mind/communication), comes ever so close to blending energies with the Sagittarius-North Node (life direction). Many of us may find ourselves questioning where we're going or how we may be planning to get to our desired destination and whether this is the best course of action. Others may be realizing what they've been working towards are no longer what they're passionate about or what gives them joy/contentment. There are those who might also find that the choices they've made have brought changes that may be challenging, but also exciting and fulfilling. However this Lunar Eclipse may play out in your world, listen to your heart if it is tugging at you. Also, let's be mindful of improving our internal dialog and external interactions, then shift our perspective to 'see' the bigger picture, so that your choices/actions may reflect your ultimate goal/s.

This Full Moon Eclipse occurs at 25 degrees in Sagittarius. Sagittarians born around December 16 and Geminis born around June 15, along with those who have planets/house angles around 25 degrees of mutable signs may experience this lunar eclipse more powerfully than others.

For me as a Virgo rising (click here for my chart), this eclipsed full moon falls in my natal 3rd house (thought/communication) but is also conjunct my natal 4th house (family/home; where I've been) and seeking balance with issues in my 9th (personal growth/experiences) and 10th (career/future goals; where I'm going) houses. This Sagittarius-Moon, Gemini-Sun, Mercury and North Node stimulate my natal Pluto (endings/transformation) and natal 1st (self/potential)/7th (relationships) houses, too; and forms a cardinal t-square with my natal Pluto and ascendant (1st house) as focal points. Couple this with the existing long term transits in full force with my birth chart; and this summer/rest of year may just be as 'challenging' and full of 'opportunities' for growth as the second half of last year was when my solar return happened alongside the 2010 cardinal t-square/cross & Cancer-Eclipsed New Moon intensity. Whew! I'm tired already :)

How might this full moon manifest in your world? Match the sign and degree to determine what house this full moon/lunar eclipse falls in. Use the list of zodiac signs below to identify the sign Sagittarius on your birth chart then click here for a brief explanation on the Full Moon transit in that house.

Saturn Direct ~ June 12, 2011

Mr. Stone Cold Reality stations direct on June 12 at 8:51 p.m. PDT / 11:51 p.m. EDT, after being retrograde since January 25th. Saturn represents our limitations, boundaries, obligations, responsibilities, challenges, and the hard work and perseverance required for success in endeavors. As written on previous Saturn posts:

Saturn, the taskmaster, teaches us lifelong karmic lessons. His approach is thorough through accepting our realities and applying disciplined, practical and hard work to rise above what limits us and be a success in our endeavors.

In the sign of Libra, Saturn's focus is on our significant relationships and the obligations that come with our commitments to them. It is the less romantic approach to love but with the lesson learned comes longevity and strength of union. The same holds true for other platonic but committed partnerships. Despite personal difficulties, hurdles to jump over, broken pieces to pick up and sweat poured from the hard work, this relationship (with a best friend, business partner, parent, sibling, etc.) endures.

While Saturn was retrograde, we may have found it difficult to move forward with our plans, especially during the station days (June 12-17) when Saturn must adjust to his change of direction/pace. Don't be frustrated. Consider that things are not moving forward as quickly as you'd like because, despite what you might believe, you or the situation may not be completely ready to move ahead. Take the opportunities presented to you, limit actions, take smaller strides, and leave negative thinking/energies behind. Saturn's actions and steps are measured which might, at times, be at the speed of molasses, but they will likely prove to be effective and successful.

On the day Saturn stations direct, the Gemini-Sun (ego/conscious will) blends energies with Mercury (thought/communication) while Venus (love/money), who is also in Gemini, makes friends with Uranus (awareness/radical change) in Aries. With the Moon also waxing for an eclipsed full moon on June 15th, things may get a bit tense and intense, especially within our significant relationships, interactions with superiors, or money matters. Watch out and avoid becoming a player in the blame game. Assess if situations truly needs action taken at the present moment; if not, opt for tackling the issues another day with, hopefully, a clearer head.

While retrograde, Saturn went back through 18 to 10 degrees of Libra, and will now revisit those degrees for a third and last time until September 21. Where do 10 to 18 degrees of Libra fall on your birth chart? Those with natal planets/house angles in Libra or cardinal signs between 10 and 18 degrees have been getting an extra workout from Saturn, especially those going through their Saturn Return! How has Saturn's retrograde cycle been for you, thus far?

Unsure where 10-18 degrees of Libra falls on your chart or whether you have natal planets/house planets between 10-18 degrees of cardinal signs? Cast your own birth chart at alabe.com for use as reference -- birth date, time, and place required.

Jupiter Sextile Neptune ~ June 8, 2011

What's your dream? Jupiter (abundance) sextiles Neptune (enlightenment) on June 8th. This first half of June is a good time to be reminded of our idealism. Getting back in touch with our dreams can go a long way into giving hope to difficult life events or impossible situations. Regaining our sense of wonder and faith help offer an alternate perspective into an existing issue.

Jupiter reminds us of the best that life can offer. Neptune urges us to look beyond the tangible world. Jupiter represents expansion, luck, happiness, and opportunities. He is currently in Taurus, where his energy seeks comfort and stability. Neptune governs the subconscious world, spirituality, visions, and imagination. She is presently in her home sign of Pisces.

Elsewhere in the sky and on the day that Jupiter and Neptune perfect their sextile, Chiron (healing), who is also transiting Pisces, stations for retrograde motion. As he turns his focus inward, Chiron reinforces the Neptunian/Piscean spiritual/intuitive/reflective nature.

Take advantage of their alliance by broadening your interests, stepping out of your comfort zone, or cultivating a more spiritual approach to daily life. Keep in mind that, at worst, Jupiter can be overzealous or overly optimistic, and Neptune can be confusing or too much of an escapist. So although, this may not be the time take action towards achieving your dreams, it's an ideal time to awaken your conscious self to whatever unconscious or semi-conscious drives you may have. What you eventually do with whatever's unmasked is up to you :)

Jupiter sextile Neptune occurs at almost 1 degree of Taurus (fixed sign) and Pisces (mutable sign). Those born around February 18-21 and April 19-22 or those with natal planets/house angles near 1 degree of fixed or mutable signs may be more sensitive to this Jupiter-Neptune sextile.

Unsure if you have natal planets/house planets near 1 degree of fixed or mutable signs? Cast your own birth chart at alabe.com for use as reference -- birth date, time, and place required.

Alternatively, I am also available for personal consultations tailored to your needs. Are you celebrating a birthday? Or know someone who is? Schedule your session for a Solar Return (birthdays) or 3-Chart Reading (detailed natal & overall outlook for the next 12 months) or request a quote for a more customized reading tailored to your needs. Consider giving a loved one the gift of insight.

Venus in Gemini ~ June 9 to July 3/4, 2011

The Birth of Venus by Alexandre Cabanel via Wikimedia Commons

Venus leaves her home sign of Taurus to transit Gemini. Venus governs how we relate (to others, to ourselves), what we value in life (people, things, precepts), and how we determine worth (self-worth, material worth, aesthetics).

In Taurus, Venus is stable, comfort-seeking, and driven by material security. In Gemini, Venus is less complicated, requires mental stimulation, has varied interests, and can be spontaneous. Gemini governs thought, ideas, communication, interactions, education and siblings. At best, Venus in Gemini is friendly, social, curious, intelligent, open-minded and lively. At worst, facetious, superficial, duplicitous, indecisive and flighty.

While Venus is in Gemini, there's even more emphasis on communication in our relationships -- personal, intimate, and business; significant, long-term, and casual. Relationships and friendships flourish through conversations -- meaningful, light, or a simple exchange of ideas.

Venus in Gemini is friendly, popular, easy going, uncomplicated, and requires mental stimulation in our social interactions. Love may blossom through hours of conversations, jumping from one topic to the next and back again. Friendships created through laughter. Existing relationships grow stronger through communication. Our social calendars may be busier than usual. Enjoyment of the present moment is encouraged during this transit.

In money matters, two or multiple sources of income may be possible during this transit. So, if you have been planning on creating supplemental income to pad the wallet a bit more than what's earned from an existing employment, this is an ideal month for such an endeavor. Gemini may lack the determination and staying power that Taurus embody, but Gemini's enthusiasm and fast-acting responses make it beneficial for getting things done quickly, if not efficiently. For the uber-shoppers in us all, be weary of impulse buying. You may regret the expense next month when the credit card bills come in.

This year, Venus joins the Sun and Mercury in Gemini beginning June 9 at 7:23 a.m. PDT / 10:23 p.m. EDT until July 3/4, 2011.

Chiron Retrograde ~ June 8 to November 10, 2011

Chiron and Achilles by Giuseppe Maria Crespi

Chiron follows Neptune's lead and joins Saturn and Pluto in retrograde motion. Chiron stations to retrograde on June 8 at 12:07 p.m. PDT / 3:07 p.m. EDT and stations direct on November 10.

As I've written in previous posts, Chiron represents both what is broken and how to heal it. Unlike a headache where the discomfort can be dispelled by a pill, Chiron is a more painstaking process that forces us to probe through the darkest recesses of our selves and pierce through our thickest walls so that we may uncover what the root cause. But it is well worth the effort.

Chiron's focus turn inward while retrograde. We are able to reflect, review, and repair. We become aware of the problem, the extent of the problem, the root of the problem, which help usher in the solution to the problem or gain the healing/renewal necessary to move past the problem. Because Chiron, like Neptune and Pluto, is slow moving, his movements have global implications. However, the focus of this post is geared more on the possible personal implications of Chiron's retrograde cycle.

While retrograde in Pisces (the seeker), Chiron's focus may be to delve deep into our broken spirit (losing the will to live or live a life with purpose), or where we may have lost our faith (in humanity, in our own abilities, etc.), or our belief in that which is greater than the self (God, the Tao, the Divine, etc.). We are given a chance to reconnect our bond with the 'essence' of who we are/of our existence, or if we are already attuned, find where the link may be weak and strengthen those areas.

From June 3rd to August 4th, Neptune will also be retrograde in the sign of Pisces. Those who have a prominent Piscean or water influence in their natal charts are likely to manage Chiron/Neptune retrograde energy more successfully than those who don't have much water weight on their birth charts. Logic and reason may not always be helpful, especially if intuitive abilities are what's being called upon. Be open alternative perspectives when mulling things over and in your interactions.

With Pluto also retrograde in Capricorn until September 16, we are urged to make empowered, difficult changes that are necessary in helping us move forward. We'll be required to purge, eliminate, and cut ties as we become enlightened to the truth. No matter how harsh and crushing that truth may be, we must recognize them and accept them before we can release them. Healing is a process so, be kind to yourself as you come face to face with old memories that haunt, unrecognizable shadows of the self, toxic thought processes or relationships, deeply-rooted reasons for destructive habits, etc.

Chiron will revisit zero to almost 6 degrees of Pisces. Pisceans born around February 19 to 25 (+/- 2 days); or with personal planets/house angles between zero to 6 degrees of mutable signs; or are going through their Chiron Return may be feel Chiron's retrograde more undeniably than others. Those who are going through their Chiron Return, please be extra kind to yourself. Uncovering and tackling decades of buried wounds can be painful, draining, frustrating, but it is a process that frees the soul and opens you up for what can be possible when burden is lifted.

How might Chiron's retrograde manifest in your life? Look to the natal house/s that Chiron is transiting. In other words, where does zero to 6 degrees of Pisces fall in your natal chart? Do you have natal planets/house angles between those degrees, too?

Unsure if you have natal planets/house planets between zero to 6 degrees of Pisces? Cast your own birth chart at alabe.com -- birth date, time, and place required.

Alternatively, I am also available personal consultations tailored to your needs. Are you celebrating a birthday? Or know someone who is?
