New Moon in Sagittarius ~ December 5, 2010

Sagittarius. Image source unknown.

On December 5th, the New Moon in Sagittarius is upon us. New Moons signify rebirth, beginnings, a clean slate, the start of a new cycle. This new moon highlights Sagittarius qualities (idealistic, optimistic, good-humored, opportunistic, intelligent) and 9th house themes (personal growth, spirituality, travel, higher education).

Sagittarius is natively ruled by Jupiter, who is currently in compassionate Pisces and in a conjunction (blending energies) with Uranus (awakening/radical change); their conjunction grows stronger and perfects on January 4, 2011, the same day as the New Moon Eclipse in Capricorn. This conjunction between Jupiter and Uranus encourages us to delve deep within the part of us that we don't normally take enough time to tap into. By seeking deep within, we enable ourselves to access and become aware of hidden motivations/drives/desires, which help in giving us a more complete picture of what we may want or hope for in this life...right now. Why am I talking about this conjunction? Because this energy between Jupiter and Uranus in Pisces surrounds this Sagittarius-New Moon, and we're able to make use of it if so choose it.

In Sagittarius, the Moon is expansive as she seeks to satisfy her thirst for knowledge and truth. The Moon is visionary and optimistic in Sagittarius. The Sagittarius-New Moon (blending of heart & soul) sextile Saturn (reality). As 2010 comes to an end, we may be taking stock (Saturn) of what the year has been like for us -- our successes, failures, challenges, lucky breaks; where we stand in our relationship/s, job/s, finances, etc. A dose of reality from Saturn, mixed in with Sagittarian optimism, may be just what we need as we close our year out and look toward the new year.

Elsewhere in the sky, Mercury (thought) and Pluto (elimination) in also in a conjunction, giving us a penetrating mind with focus and the ability to cut through the fog of confusion or haze of denial and get at the core of truth, no matter how harsh or unbelievable it may seem. Use the knowledge gained toward something productive.

This new moon, on December 5, occurs at 14 degrees of Sagittarius at 9:36 a.m. PST / 12:36 p.m. EST. Those born within 3 days of June 4 or December 5; or have planets/house angles around 14 degrees of mutable signs may feel the effects of this new moon stronger than others.

Also happening on the same day as the Sagittarius-New Moon, Uranus, who has been retrograde since July 5th, will station direct at 5:50 p.m. PST / 8:50 p.m. EST.

For me, this new moon forms a fire grand trine with my Aries-Moon/Chiron (heart/inner drives and healing/release, respectively) and Venus (relationships/finances). As a Virgo-rising, this New Moon falls in my natal 3rd house of thought, communication and siblings, even though Sagittarius governs my natal 4th house; and as a Cancer-Sun, in my solar 6th house of work, health and routines. A new or improved way of thinking and communicating is always a welcome change. After all, everything is seeded at the thought level so, I'm always up for brighter ways of thinking and talking. As far as 6th house issues are concerned, since my move back to San Francisco late July, I'm still trying to establish a new daily/weekly work and life 'routine' ... I seem to have more distraction here with family and long time friends. Fun distractions, but distractions nonetheless :)

Mercury in Capricorn ~ Nov. 30 to Dec. 18, 2010

Capricorn by Hevelius via wikimedia

On November 30 at 4:10 p.m. PST / 7:10 p.m. EST, Mercury leaves expansive Sagittarius for disciplined Capricorn. This transit gives us the opportunity to build upon ideas formed and dreams created while Mercury was in Sagittarius.

Mercury governs all manners of thinking, communicating, transportation, and commerce. In Capricorn, Mercury is ambitious; our minds are decisive, and we're persistent in our conversations. This is a period ideal for thinking up how to make things happen. Did you have grand ideas while Mercury was in Sagittarius? Let Mercury in Capricorn help you make that happen. Outline goals. Research. Plan steps. Develop the how, when, and with whom. Be focused and well-intentioned.

On December 10, Mercury slows down and prepares for retrograde motion, where he continues until December 29 PST/December 30 EST. Mercury retrograde is a period for reflection and review, perfect for re-planning and/or devising detailed steps to achieve objectives.

While Capricorn, Mercury will make connections with the following celestial bodies on (all dates reflect North America Pacific time zone; allow +/-2 days for life span of influence):

  • December 1 ~ Mercury sextile Venus. Thinking about relationships or finances or both. In relationships, it's a good time to clear the air. Say what's on your mind. In finances, allow Mercury's pragmatism in Capricorn to help with money matters. Whatever may be going on in your world, opt for finding a solution to your situation. Seek counsel from someone more experienced or a wiser person.
  • December 5 ~ Mercury conjunct Pluto. Uncovering what's hidden. Ferret out the truth. A penetrating mind. Strong ability for focus. Also today, New Moon in Sagittarius and Uranus stations Direct in Pisces.
  • December 10 to 29/30 ~ Mercury Retrograde.
  • December 10 ~ Mercury-rx sextile Venus. Once again, they meet. This time around, Mercury is station-retrograde. Best for reflection. Careful what you say. Passions rise with Scorpio-Venus plus possible miscommunication/misunderstanding with Merc-rx can cause more trouble than it should. Watch out for pettiness or holding grudges. Opt for forgiveness and kindness.
  • December 13 ~ Mercury-rx conjunct Pluto and Mars. Determined to make do of promises or intentions. Focus. Drive. Actions driven by well thought out plans/ideas. Making plans concrete. Impatience.

What significance do planets, signs, and houses have in astrology? Planets have the function, the job to do. The style/manner they will use get that job done is defined by the zodiac sign they occupy. Where in our life the job gets done is determined by the house the planet occupies/transits. So, when Mars (aggression) is in Aries (bold), he is more assertive than when he is in Cancer (sensitive). When traveling through the 10th house (professional life), he may bring his confidence and motivation in matters relating to our career. While in the 11th house (friendships), we may be more inclined to having our social calendar packed with activities. Having the foresight for what may be coming up or receiving confirmation on what may be happening now are ways astrology can be beneficial ... as above, so below.

Venus Re-enters Scorpio ~ Nov. 29, 2010-Jan. 7, 2011

Scorpio by mariyanikiforova via deviantart

Hooray for Scorpio-Suns and Risings! Here's comes a reprise visit from Venus. Make it worth your while :) Although Scorpios and fellow water signs may enjoy Venus re-entering Scorpio more than others, we can all find some benefit from her return to Scorpio. Venus initially entered Scorpio on September 8, but her retrograde cycle interrupted her from completing her transit in Scorpio. Earlier this month on November 7th, Venus returned to Libra. Then, on the 18th, she began direct motion once more. Now on the 29th, Venus gets a chance to finish what she started in September and transit Scorpio completely.

From November 29th to December 21st, Venus makes a third and final pass through zero to around 13 degrees of Scorpio. Those born around October 23 to November 6 may get Venus blending energies with their natal Sun for a third time this year. Those with natal planets and/or house angles between zero to 13 degrees of fixed signs may also feel the effects of Venus retracing her steps in Scorpio.

Regardless of our Sun/Rising sign or natal planetary placements, we can all benefit from Venus retracing her steps in Scorpio and in her completion of her transit in Scorpio. Until the 21st of December, we have the chance to pick up where we might have left things off last month when Venus started her retrograde cycle. Perhaps the weeks she spent being introspective also had us reflecting on our own situations, in love or money. Now, we get a chance to do something about what we were enlightened upon.

Other than finances or relationships, Venus also represents our values/value system and self-worth. So, some of us may have mulled over what our personal values are, where our priorities lie; and maybe, resulting in our redefining our values or re-prioritizing some things in our life. On an even more personal level, we might have gained insight on the subject of "worth" -- material worth vs. self-worth. Especially with the recent Taurus-Full Moon, is our self-worth tied to our wealth/possessions? Are we more worthy or valuable as an individual if we owned more stuff? What do we truly value? And how do we assess what's valuable?

While Venus is in Scorpio, before revisiting Libra and after returning to Scorpio, she will make alignments with the following celestial bodies (all dates reflect North America Pacific time zone; allow +/-2 days for life span of influence):

  • December 1 ~ Mercury sextile Venus. Thinking about relationships or finances or both. In relationships, it's a good time to clear the air. Say what's on your mind. In finances, allow Mercury's pragmatism in Capricorn to help with money matters. Whatever may be going on in your world, opt for finding a solution to your situation. Seek counsel from someone more experienced or a wiser person.
  • December 8 ~ Venus sextile Pluto. Seeing the depth of things, especially within relationships. Cutting through lies or deception. Uncovering what's hidden. Finding a solution.
  • January 4 & 5 ~ Venus square Neptune/Chiron and trine Jupiter/Uranus. Compassion. Healing. Coming to terms. Hopefulness. An awakening. A release. Breaking free. Also on January 4, a New Moon/Solar Eclipse in Capricorn at 1:03 a.m. PST / 4:03 a.m. EST and the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction perfects.

How might Venus' return to Scorpio influence your birth chart? Look to the natal house/s ruled by Scorpio. Match the sign and degrees the house cusp/s on your birth chart. Use the list of zodiac signs below to identify the Scorpio zodiac sign on your birth chart then click here for a brief explanation.

Sun in Sagittarius ~ Nov. 22 to Dec. 21, 2010

Orsay Archer by Kathryn Gordon

Bright. Expansive. Far-sighted. Idealistic. Opportunistic. Jolly. The Sun comes out from the deep waters of Scorpio to join Mercury (thought) and Mars (action) in transiting the sign of the archer, Sagittarius, from November 22 until December 21.

The Sun represents the self we present to the external world, our vital life force, potential, ambitions, intentions, and unrealized/untapped inherent talents/skills. While the Sun in Scorpio may have been intense, careful, methodical, and concerned with longevity, in Sagittarius, the Sun is in good spirits, adventurous, open-minded, and opportunistic with big, bold ideas!

At best, the Sun in Sagittarius is lucky, wise, curious, friendly, popular, and just. At worst, non-committal, careless, and gives empty promises. Life is in the living, experiencing and growing. It's the journey, not just the destination.

Until December 7th, the Sun has Mars' energy to aid him in Sagittarius. Mars in Sagittarius is driven to act fueled by our ideals, and decisions are motivated by the idea of growth/development. Bigger. Better. Faster. Newer. Ideal. Mercury is also in Sagittarius until November 30, will retrograde (be more introspective/reflective) on December 10 and return to Sagittarius from December 18 until January 14 of the new year. This extended stay is wonderful news for Sagittarius-Suns and Risings, especially for those Sagittarians born December 11 or later, especially with Mercury linking to Uranus and Neptune during the December 21st Lunar Eclipse (more on this later). Mercury in Sagittarius is a visionary, dreams big and is good-humored. Dreams. Aspirations. Experiences. Interactions.

While the Sun is in Sagittarius, dare to dream a little ... or a lot. Allow Sagittarian ideals to stir excitement within yourself. Let yourself be okay with being unsatisfied with simply existing and living in automatic mode. Have the courage to seek out living a passionate life, where your days are filled with people and activities that make you feel like your life is fulfilling instead of just full. Entertaining such thoughts won't mean you'll be dropping everything irresponsibly for the sake what could be. It simply helps widen your horizons and perhaps enlighten you to what you truly need or want out of life, at this juncture in your life. There's no harm in dreaming :)

The Sun enters Sagittarius on November 22 at 2:17 a.m. PST / 5:15 a.m. EST and will stay through December 21. While in Sagittarius, the Sun will align with the following celestial bodies (all dates reflect North America Pacific time zone; allow +/-2 days for life span of influence):

  • December 5 ~ New Moon in Sagittarius at 9:36 a.m. PST / 12:36 p.m. EST.
  • December 7 ~ Sun sextile Saturn. Time to get in gear and create structure or re-establish foundation or renew commitments. Keen awareness of the the strings attached within our relationships -- may it be intimate, family, friendships, bosses, colleagues, etc. How does this knowledge make you feel?
  • December 10 to 20 ~ Mercury Retrograde.
  • December 16 ~ Sun square Jupiter. Dream BIG. Good moods. Overall trust in universe. Opportunities that seem too good to be true maybe are. Be mindful of not overdoing, overextending yourself, or overestimating situations.
  • December 18 to 19 ~ Sun square Uranus; sextile Neptune & Chiron; and conjunct Mercury-rx. Promising. Hopefulness. Radical changes for the better. Sagittarians celebrating a birthday during this period are likely blessed to carry this hopeful energy with them until their birthday next year. Also today, retrograde-Mercury returns to Sagittarius to stay until mid-January.
  • December 21 ~ Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse in Gemini at 12:13 a.m. PST / 3:13 a.m. EST, which occurs within the same day as the Sun's entrance into Capricorn at 3:38 p.m. PST / 6:38 p.m. EST. This eclipse starts off the Gemini/Sagittarius set of eclipses occurring through 2013.

Full Moon in Taurus ~ November 21, 2010

On November 21st at 9:27 a.m. PST / 12:27 p.m. EST, the moon waxes full in the sign of Taurus. The Moon is said to be exalted (best placement) in comfort-seeking Taurus. Taurean energy gives the Moon's fluctuating moods and sensitivities some semblance of stability and grounding.

Full moons signify the completion, culmination of what may have been initiated during the previous new moon in Scorpio which reminded us that it's never too late to make a change. This Full Moon in Taurus squares Neptune (hope) and Chiron (release), daring us to take a look at what we've got, then go ahead and let go of what we no longer need or what keeps us from making the necessary changes, despite how difficult it might be to give up what's been so familiar...comfortable.

Much like the Aries-Full Moon last month, this Taurus-Full Moon also occurs at 29 degrees. Those born within 3 days of April 19 or November 21 or with natal planets and/or house angles on or around 29 degrees of fixed signs may feel the effects of this full moon stronger than others.

For me, this Taurus-Full Moon, along with Neptune & Chiron, square my natal Neptune; and falls in my natal 9th house of personal growth (as a Virgo-rising) and solar 11th house of friendships (as a Cancer-Sun). I've been under the umbrella of Neptune square natal Neptune all year and this full moon is just kicking everything up a notch. Between being under the umbrella of Pluto (purging) opposing my Sun (conscious will) and Uranus (awakening) also currently trine my Neptune, anything goes :) Since this is also a "9" year for me in numerology which is generally about letting go, this Taurus-Full Moon is not-so-subtle "nudge, nudge" for me to get it together ... whatever else I need to get let go of/come to terms with/release, get it done already!

How might this full moon influence your birth chart? Match the sign and degree to determine what house this full moon falls in. Use the list of zodiac signs below to identify the sign Taurus on your birth chart then click here for a brief explanation on the Full Moon transit in that house.

Jupiter Direct ~ November 18, 2010

Jupiter's High-Altitude Clouds via NASA

It's been a long four months since the planet of expansion began his retrograde cycle. I'm super excited that Jupiter stations for direct motion on November 18, just before Venus (love/money/values) also becomes direct, which leave Uranus (awakening/radical change) as the only planet still retrograde (introspective).

Since becoming retrograde at 3 degrees of Aries, Jupiter has returned to 23 degrees of Pisces and transits Pisces for the last time in a long time. He won't visit Pisces again until 2021, which adds greater significance to his meeting with Uranus in Pisces, especially for those with natal planet or house angles in the very late degrees of water or earth signs or at Aries Point of cardinal signs.

As written in a previous post, By late December, Jupiter and Uranus will once again walk side by side in the last degrees of Pisces before re-entering Aries next year (Jupiter, on January 22; Uranus, March 11). Their next conjunction perfects on January 4, 2011 at 27 degrees of Pisces which follows their prior meetings on June 8, 2010 in Aries at Aries Point and September 18, 2010 in Pisces at 29 degrees. The January 4, 2011 conjunction occurs on the same day as the New Moon/Solar Eclipse in Capricorn, giving even more significance to their meeting in Pisces.

Jupiter represents good luck, joy, expansion, opportunities, higher education, and personal growth through our interests, experience and spirituality. He also governs publishing, travel, foreigners and exposure to other cultures. At best, Jupiter brings a wealth of knowledge, understanding, growth, opportunities, as well as financial gains. At worst, overindulgent, excessive, wasteful and unable to get past "dreaming" of the possibilities.

Uranus is the awakener, the mover and shaker of the zodiac. His goal is change/improvement for the masses at any cost, even at the cost of chaos or a revolution. Uranus represents humanitarianism, unconventionality, unpredictability, indifference, freedom, technological advancements, and loyalty to its cause. Uranus' energy is radical, disruptive, rebellious and innovative.

Pisces is imaginative, creative, receptive and peace-loving. Pisces governs mysticism, spirituality, intuition, dreams, psychic abilities, compassion, sacrificial love, escapism, drug/substance abuse, phobias and mental problems. At best, Pisces is spiritually/psychically attune to the inner-workings within the "unseen" world and able to apply this awareness in the "seen" world. At worst, deluded, diffident and incapable of functioning in the physical realm.

In Pisces, Jupiter is super compassionate, seeks to fully understand how we are all interconnected, aims for more spiritual connections, and is intuitively in sync with a more collective consciousness. This transit encourages us as a whole to begin, continue or educate others in exploring ways to improve our own quality of life, as well as of those around us -- may it be living greener, adopting a healthier lifestyle, giving back through volunteer work, connecting with the divine, becoming more aware of one's civic duties, or even something as simple as treating others as you would have yourself be treated. The effort of each, collectively, benefits more people and, possibly, on a global scale.

On a personal level, Jupiter in Pisces is a time to recognize the existence and influence of the unseen world through seeking our own personal truths, no matter where the journey might lead us along the way. Be open to unlock the "magic" of the subconscious, tap into one's own spiritual consciousness, and learn to trust one's own intuition more. Be adventurous enough to explore the unknown.

With regards to the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction, my only word of caution is -- keep in mind that this Jupiter-Uranus energy is happening in the sign of Pisces. It's one thing to gain insight and grounding through the optimism and overall good feeling their growing conjunction might bring. It's quite another to become attached to this 'good feeling' and give in to avoidance or total escape. Allow Jupiter and Uranus in Pisces to help you find your center again but don't 'check out'. Continue to 'show up' every moment of each day.

Jupiter re-enters Aries on January 22, 2011 where he remains until June 4, 2011. His first few weeks in Aries will retrace his steps from Aries Point to 3 degrees of Aries, which revisits the period from June to early September 2010 and offers us the opportunity to pick up where we left off, gain some extra headway, take something to the next level or finally officially launch what we have been working on.

How might Jupiter's direction change influence you? Look to the house/s that govern Pisces and Aries or if you have your natal chart, look at where 23 degrees of Pisces to 3 degrees of Aries falls in your chart. This is the area Jupiter covered during his retrograde period and will revisit until early February 2011.

Those who have natal planets or house angles at 3 degrees of Aries back to 23 degrees of Pisces may get more of workout during Jupiter's retrograde cycle. *Day/time references are North America PST.

It's relatively quiet, celestially, compared to last weekend. Sagittarius-Mars (action/motivation) gets friendly with Libra-Saturn (reality/hard work). This is especially beneficial for those who might have to work throughout the weekend. On a personal level, this gives us all extra gumption to take action on what we may have been procrastinating on or dreading of doing. This alliance between Mars and Saturn offers more perseverance and dedication to the work or obligation that must be done.

Venus Direct ~ November 18, 2010

Hemispheric View of Venus via NASA

Finally! Venus stations for direct motion on November 18. She's been retrograde since October 8. More recently, she returned home to Libra on November 7, where she remains until the 29th.

As written on a previous post,

Venus represents our relationships (all types -- intimate, platonic, family and that with the self), our material wealth, our value system/s, our self-worth, our capacity to see beauty in the world, and our desires.

While retrograde, Venus urged us to seek within and reflect upon issues related to our relationships, finances and self-worth. In Scorpio, Venus' focus may be in "value" -- what this object, person, belief is worth? how much influence does it have on the self? is this influence a positive one that nurtures personal growth or provides true happiness? what attachments (material or otherwise) do we cling to and why? In Libra, Venus's focus may in our relationships -- how do they enhance or limit our lives? how does the dynamic of this relationship promote self-growth?

From November 18 until approximately December 20, Venus will pass through the same degrees from 17 degrees of Libra to 13 degrees of Scorpio for the third and last time. This gives us a chance to apply what we may have learned while she was retrograde.

On the day Venus changes direction, Jupiter in Pisces, who has been retrograde since July 23 will also station for direct motion. Elsewhere in the sky on this same day, the Scorpio-Sun (ego/potential) squares Neptune (hope/enlightenment) and Chiron (wounds/healing) while also trine Uranus (radical change). Avoid getting lost in your head/dreams/visions. Life is about living ... and sometimes, living out loud! Although solitude may be necessary now, make sure you're actually spending quality time alone and not hiding or escaping. Otherwise, you might miss out on opportunities from unlikely places/sources. Expect the unexpected. It's ok to have an abrupt change of mind or feel the need to break away and venture on your own.

Look to the astrological house/s where 17 degrees of Libra to 13 degrees of Scorpio fall into. This should give you an idea of where in your life Venus' transit may be influencing you and/or where you can make the most of its energy. If you don't have your birth chart handy, cast your own -- birth date, time and place required.

Alternatively, I am available for personal consultations. Schedule your session for a 3-chart package, Solar Return (birthdays), Saturn Return (major life event) or Synastry (relationships) reading. Or you might also consider giving a loved one the gift of insight.

Have a question or need a quote for a more customized reading, ask me here. Or feel free to cruise on over to the AstroCreeps and TarotFreaks Forum* to start or join a discussion.

Mercury in Sagittarius ~ November 8 to 30, 2010

Photobucket

Mercury changes signs as he leaves the investigative, stubborn sign of Scorpio and joins Mars in the expansive, optimistic sign of Sagittarius. Mercury's move continues a busy few days of celestial energies shifting, which began with Chiron becoming direct (Nov. 5), followed by the New Moon in Scorpio (Nov. 5/6), then Neptune also stationing direct (Nov. 6/7), and Venus, still retrograde, returning to Libra (Nov. 7).

Mercury transits Sagittarius from November 8 at 3:43 p.m. PST / 6:43 p.m. EST until the end of the month, November 30. Mercury represents the mind, communication, interaction, commerce and trade.

There's a bit of trepidation on Mercury's part when transiting Sagittarius. Mercury is accustomed to details; Sagittarius doesn't much care for it. This can leave Mercury somewhat lost in the vastness of Sagittarian intellect and formless thought process that is sometimes aimless.

In Sagittarius, our minds are built for visionary planning; our thoughts filled with philosophical ideas; our ideas less realistic and more idealistic; and our interaction good-humored, but may lack tact. It's easy to visualize the big picture ... the end game, but drawing up the detailed steps (i.e. from creating an idea into something tangible to its development then its launch, and finally its continued maintenance) can be indeterminate to a Mercury in Sagittarius.

At best, Mercury in Sagittarius is forward-thinking, optimistic, visionary, jovial, opportunistic, intelligent, and curious. At worst, unrealistic, disorganized, overly optimistic, blunt to the point of tactless, and offers up empty promises.

Think BIG while Mercury is in Sagittarius. Entertain your dreams and aspirations. Probe into your what-if scenarios. Who knows? The ideas in your head while Mercury is in Sagittarius might set Mercury transit in Capricorn, which begins on December 7, in motion to plan. This could very well make your ideas more feasible and help get your 2011 off to a more purposeful start.

Celebrating a birthday (solar return) mid or late November? You could benefit from Mercury's alignments with Saturn (mid-November) or Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune and Chiron (late November). The energy of Mercury's alignments to these heavenly bodies could carry out through your solar return year -- a helping hand extended to you by the universe :)

While in Sagittarius, Mercury will make connections with the following celestial bodies on (dates reflect North America Pacific time zone; give +/-2 days for life span of influence)
  • November 17 ~ Mercury sextile Saturn. Saturn's influence help give the Sagittarian-mind a metaphorical ceiling. Saturn's shows the limitations and realities involving situations. Allow Saturn to also give the plans and ideas "legs" to stand on.
  • November 20 ~ Mercury conjunct Mars. Thinking and doing happens almost simultaneously. We act as soon as the words are spoken. No hesitation. Careful that actions are actually well-planned otherwise, results may not yield what's intended. In conversation, especially if we're angered, it's easy to blurt out words without really thinking them through.
  • November 25 ~ Mercury square Jupiter-rx. Think big. Hopefulness. Careful of overoptimism or overestimating situations, though. Think carefully and methodically before committing to anything.
  • November 27 ~ Mercury square Uranus-rx and sextile Neptune & Chiron. May continue the hopefulness from Mercury's square with Jupiter. Opportunities for awareness, healing and enlightenment. A good time to learn seeing the same situation from different perspective or shifting point of view to gain a more complete outlook.

Such a celestially busy weekend! Chiron (healing) stations direct and a New Moon (renewals) occurs in Scorpio on Friday to kick off the weekend with promises of healing and release to pave the way for a new beginning.

On Saturday, Neptune (insight) follows Chiron's lead and also begins moving direct. Both have been retrograde (introspective) for about five months.

Finally, very early on Sunday, the Moon (heart) leaves the intensity of Scorpio and enters adventure-seeking Sagittarius. Later that night, Venus (love), who remains retrograde (introspective), revisits Libra (relationships) for the rest of the month.

Venus Returns to Libra ~ November 7 to 29, 2010

Libra via Sodahead

Venus has been retrograde since October 8 and remain so until November 18. Beginning November 7th until the 29th, Venus retraces her steps from early September when she returns to her home sign of Libra and revisits 27 to 29 degrees of Libra before re-entering Scorpio on the November 29 to stay until January 7, 2011.

What were the first ten days of September like for you? Do you have unresolved issues or unfinished projects from that period? Or maybe, you did work then that you haven't been paid for yet. Much of November may be a time to help you gain some closure or arrive at a solution.

Venus symbolizes love and money, while Libra represents relationships, so these may be the areas in life that Venus' return to Libra will trigger this month. With Saturn (reality/structure/hard work) also in Libra where he's been since July and where he'll remain until 2012, some of us may be learning or re-learning how to relate with others; how to be in a healthy relationship with another/others or even with money; or how to put away our blinders and "see" our relationships as they truly are. Perhaps, finances being tight becomes a lesson in values and priorities; a relationship on the rocks finds solid ground to rebuild the relationship structure or crumbles; or a failed relationship, a lesson in self-worth.

However, Venus' transit may manifest in your life and whether these events/issues are related to Saturn's transit, take this time reassess finances and what course of action, if any, may be necessary to take; gain understanding on the nature of your relationships, whether they are healthy or not and what you can do to improve things; and/or be open to re-establish a new value system...perhaps, what you once deemed super important may no longer be at the top tier of your priorities.

Those with natal planets, especially natal Saturn, and/or house angles within 27 to 29 degrees of cardinal signs may experience Venus' return in Libra stronger than most. In addition to Venus' transit, Chiron and Neptune will now also be direct and transiting the last degrees of fellow air sign, Aquarius, during this period when Venus is also in Libra.

Also today, Neptune stations direct, after five months of being in retrograde motion.

To get an idea of how Venus' transit may influence you (along with Chiron and Neptune's transits), look to the solar and/or natal house governed by Libra (and Aquarius for Chiron and Neptune) and which house/s 27-29 degrees of Libra falls in your birth chart (26-28 degrees of Aquarius for Chiron and Neptune). For those without a birth chart handy, cast your birth chart at http://alabe.com/freechart.

Neptune Direct ~ November 6/7, 2010

Coming off at the heels of a New Moon in Scorpio (November 5/6) and following Chiron's lead in also becoming direct (November 5), Neptune stations on November 6 at 11:04 p.m. PST (Nov. 7 at 1:04 a.m. EST) and prepares for direct motion. She began her retrograde cycle on May 31st.

In a previous post, I explained that:

Neptune is natively introspective and lives in the realm of the unseen world. At best, she is our acute intuitive sense, our dreams, our imagination, our compassion. At worst, she is the fog that clouds our mind, causing indecision, confusion ... escape when avoidance is not the answer.

While Neptune strolled back to where she'd been, we might have been thrown deeper into our own psyche. In Aquarius, Neptune is a visionary, rebellious, unpredictable, and driven by humanitarian causes. Aquarian ways are inventive, innovative, and progressive.

Have we conjured up fresh ways of doing something that's routine? Perhaps an alternate approach to a long-standing situation? Or a new perspective to an old view? Have we been awakened to caring beyond our selves, our lives? Do we now imagine how truly interconnected each of us are?

As she goes over her steps, yet again, beginning at 25 degrees to 28 degrees of Aquarius, she continues to move side by side with Chiron (the wounded healer). Their meeting will not perfect, but they will closest to each other between November and December. Their "closeness" triggers the energy of their conjunction from earlier this year in February. Their alliance supported our efforts "to release fears, heal past hurts, let go of mentally wounding thoughts/ideas, give up old ways or bad habits while at the same time giving us hope and insight; we are shown truth and reality that go beyond what we can mentally process, visually witness and audibly experience." We can, again, tap into this energy if we need help in this way.

On the day Neptune turns direct, Venus, who remains retrograde, also adds to the celestial energy shift by returning to Libra. A separate article will be posted on the topic.

To get an idea of how Neptune's transit may influence you, look to the solar and/or natal house governed by Aquarius and which house/s 26-28 degrees of Aquarius falls in your birth chart. For those without a birth chart handy, cast your birth chart at http://alabe.com/freechart. Alternatively, I am available for personal consultations. New Moon in Scorpio ~ November 5/6, 2010

Scorpio via Sodahead

Scorpio-Suns and risings, rejoice! It's a new moon in your sign. The past few weeks have been filled with "excitement" for you -- some good, some unexpected, and other times, you might have just wanted to be left alone. At one point, we have four celestial bodies in Scorpio! So much action in one sign can affect our day to day a lot since each of us are affected differently by the energies around us. And Scorpio is an energy that could get too intense for some. Well, a new moon is upon us. Time for a renewal!

New Moons signify rebirth, beginnings, a clean slate, the start of a new cycle. This new moon highlights Scorpio qualities (intuitive, passionate, devoted, focused) and 8th house themes (in the physical realm, debt and shared resources; in the spiritual plane, elimination and transformation).

Scorpio is jointly governed by Pluto, who is busy restructuring our foundation in Capricorn and Mars, who is actively pursuing possibilities in Sagittarius. In Scorpio, the Moon seeks truth, answers in order to thoroughly understand situations and will keep digging as many layers deep as necessary to arrive at the core. The Scorpio-Moon gives us the power to let go and to regenerate.

This Scorpio-New Moon (blending energies of heart & soul) occurs when two other planets are also in Scorpio -- Mercury (thought/communication) and Venus (relationships/finances). Venus is also still retrograde (introspective).

Elsewhere in the sky, another pairing, Pluto (transformation; also, Scorpio's ruler) and the North Node (life path), gets ever closer to perfecting which have longer term impact on "where we are going" or "what we are doing, should be doing or want to do". They will perfect their conjunction on November 9. Also, happening during the Scorpio-New Moon is a difficult alignment between Mercury (thought) and Neptune (insight), where our minds may challenged to perceive situations from a more spiritual or intuitive method versus a logical or practical means.

During this new moon phase (approximately two weeks), let's renew our hearts and minds. Realize that it's never too late to make a change. And although any change can be daunting, with thorough planning, commitment, hard work and passion, success is imminent. This is also an ideal time to consider alternative avenues or methods to what you're used to. Seed the soul with what motivates the heart. Therein, lies a beginning.

This new moon occurs on November 5 at 9:52 p.m. (PST) / November 6 at 12:52 a.m. (EST) and at 14 degrees of Scorpio. Those born within 3 days of November 5 or May 3; or have planets/house angles around 14 degrees of fixed signs may feel the effects of this new moon stronger than most.

For me, this New Moon trines my Mars (action/motivation), squares my Venus (love/money) and oppose my Saturn (structure/responsibilities); it falls in my 2nd house of income and values (as a Virgo-rising) and in my 5th house of creative projects (as a Cancer-Sun). While all that is happening, Pluto and the North Node continue to oppose my natal Sun and will keep doing it for quite some time. Scrap the old plans. Draw up something new. Get over whatever disappointments there may have been. Focus on a new path. Be reminded that I am only limited by my own self-imposed ceiling. Okay, good luck with that :)

How might this new moon influence your life? Look to the natal house/s this new moon will occupy in your birth chart. Match the sign and degree to the sign on the house cusp/s. Use the list below to identify the Scorpio zodiac sign then click here to read about the New Moon in Houses.
