WeeklyScopes ~ March 1 to 7, 2010

*Day/time references are North America EST. Photo source unknown.

Wow, March already! Even with Mars retrograde, this year is just flying by...at least, it is for me. It's a very Mercurial (communication) and Venusian (relationships) week, as both change signs this week and make connections with other celestial bodies in the heavens.

Mercury starts off March and the week leaving the extroverted sign of Aquarius for the more private sign of Pisces early Monday morning. He then proceeds to get belligerent with Mars and Saturn, who are both still retrograde. So, luckily for Mercury, Mars and Saturn are currently introspective, just like the sign of Pisces. Instead of an all out screaming match, the week begins with thoughtful reflection on what we're doing (Mars) and why we're doing it (Saturn). By mid-week, Venus gets naughty with Uranus and all bets are off. In Pisces, both Venus and Uranus may be more subdued but the need to break out from “the usual” is just as great. Some might do a little impulsive shopping. Others might surprise the object of their affection with a spontaneous treat. With Mercury and Pluto also happily hanging out, some unexpected news may be revealed or secrets uncovered. *shhh*

Sunday brings us Venus' entrance in Aries. For weeks, she's been uber sweet and well-behaved in Pisces. Now, as soon as she makes her appearance in Aries, she moves in and gets her flirt on with Mars! Mercury blending energies with Jupiter suggest a fun, happy time to be had by all. Forgiveness comes easy. Overlooking flaws or offenses is automatic. If apologies are in order, today is an ideal day for groveling. Do it with sincerity, however. Mercury in Pisces is intuitive enough to recognize disingenuous gestures.

Aries | Taurus | Gemini | Cancer | Leo | Virgo | Libra
Scorpio | Sagittarius | Capricorn | Aquarius | Pisces

Aries-Sun or Rising ~ Truly listen to others this week, especially your loved one. Some things need to be said, heard, discussed and decided upon. By the way, listening means not talking over someone who's already talking and not mentally deciding upon what's being said before the actual discussion is over. You might have to dig deep to find your patience but make sure to use it. Venus arriving in your sign at end of the week is a welcome change from all this passive energy around.

Taurus-Sun or Rising ~ Watch out for drama unfolding. Perhaps you might be privy to something *hush hush* in which case, keep it so. It will most likely be exposed soon enough, and you certainly don't want to be known as the leak. If you're feeling he itch for shopping or just can't let a “sale” go unrecognized, grab a responsible who might help you keep some cash in your wallet or are you a plastic user? :) Keep aware of what you're buying. With Venus and Uranus coming together, you may just find yourself with purchases that leave you wondering “wth?” next week.

Gemini-Sun or Rising ~ You enjoy a bit of gossip as much as the next person. Just be careful what fills your conversations this week, especially if the news is work-related. Love relationship may be foggy earlier in the week. You might not be sure what's being asked of you or expected of you or what you might have said/done to merit the situation you now find yourself in. No worries. In a day or two, communications will be more fluid and the fog might be lifted just enough to figure out what's what. Single Geminis, Venus entering your house of friendships on Sunday could signal finding a love connection within your circle of friends now and in the weeks to come.

Cancer-Sun or Rising ~ Expand your mind this week. Be mindful of the “quieter” times. Enjoy the silence. If a little spontaneous travel is doable, go ahead and take a short getaway. Venus enters your career house later this week and next week Mars begins moving forward, lifting blockages with regards to income. So, busy work days ahead and finally, right? Cancers, who are self-employed or business owners, may have really felt the influence of this Mars retrograde. Hang in there...

Leo-Sun or Rising ~ If it seems like your being tested, there might be some truth in that so, tread lightly. Mercury might be stirring up some things with Mars, who is still a bit repressed in your sign. Mercury is stirring up trouble with Saturn as well, who is in your house of thought and communication. So there might be a slight misunderstanding or critical information missing for you to make any kind of judgement. More clarity may be gathered by mid-week. Enjoy the weekend when Venus gets happy with Mars.

Virgo-Sun or Rising ~ The past has a way of creeping up just when you least expect it. Sometimes, however, a peek into the past enlightens something in the present. Be discerning this week of glimpses from the past that somehow sheds understanding on what you're currently going through. Virgos who are in a business partnership can use the sky's happenings this week to talk business – financial status, marketing plan, revising the business model, etc. Coupled up Virgos can enjoy Mercury and Jupiter joining forces in your relationships house this weekend.

Libra-Sun or Rising ~ Busy work week. Where to begin?! Well, stay focused, do each task one after another and don't forget to breathe. Family and friends might want more of your time but won't actually tell you directly. You really don't have time to be a mind reader, too, this week. But you are a charmer, so I'm sure you'll handle the week just fine. Make sure to schedule in some time with your significant other by Sunday, when Venus lights up your relationships house.

Scorpio-Sun or Rising ~ Has everyone lost their mind and regressed back to the maturity of a two-year-old? Sometimes there's just no reasoning with people. They've decided long before the discussion ended. Let it go for now...and try not to pull your hair out. By Thursday, Mercury makes a lovely alignment with your ruler, Pluto. Broach the subject again then. Your luck might be better. The weekend brings a happy meeting between Mercury and Jupiter in your house of love. Celebrate with your loved one. If single, celebrate with your friends and keep an eye out for Mr./Ms. Right (Now).

Sagittarius-Sun or Rising ~ Between work and family, the week gets tiresome very early on. Cheer up, though, the weekend brings Venus' entrance to your house of love. So get obligations taken care of and look forward to spending the weekend re-igniting romance back into your life. A little weekend getaway might also be nice, weather/wallet/schedule permitting. If single, be like Venus in Aries and flirt boldly, confidently with whomever catches your eye.

Capricorn-Sun or Rising ~ Have you changed your mind about something? It's ok if you do. Some things have played out differently than what's been expected. It's natural to amend set rules or planned actions to meet current specifications. If there is doubt, however, consider waiting until Thursday when Mercury and Pluto get together, when the energy for focus and the ability to analyze the situation is stronger. The weekend brings Venus home to your house of family. Make time for loved ones.

Aquarius-Sun or Rising ~ If an income-building proposal lands on your desk or inbox, scrutinize it with a microscope. Venus (money) and Uranus' (unexpected) pairing up in your income house suggest it might be unconventional but worth a look. It might ultimately require a financial investment above what you're willing to commit to. Perhaps, look it over while Mercury (thinking) and Pluto (research) are in sync on Thursday. Mercury and Jupiter's union on Sunday brings optimism and more opportunities within your income house ... soon.

Pisces-Sun or Rising ~ Happy Birthday, March-born Pisceans! Are you ready to be a year older and much wiser? :) Mercury making a ruckus with Mars and Saturn early in the week might cause you to look at some things and make changes...perhaps this is health-related. Making a brand, new commitment to adopting healthier habits and giving up bad ones. Or maybe it's finally giving a friend the boot and slamming the door behind him/her. Whatever it may be, start the month off thinking about what you want and getting rid of what you don't want.

Thank the heavens that this weekend our thoughts and their expression are in sync with the intended meaning we hope to convey. Mercury blends energies with Neptune and Chiron in Aquarius (intellect), while the Sun and Uranus are also united in Pisces (spirituality). The meeting between Mercury (communication), Neptune (enlightenment) and Chiron (understanding) occurs in Aquarius, so expect open and objective discussions. The Sun (potential) and Uranus (awakening) joining forces in Pisces allow for greater depth in our understanding. As the weekend closes, the Full Moon offers release and/or resolution to whatever may be happening with each of our individual situations. With Uranus and Aquarius in play, there is an element of surprise to the weekend...just to keep things even more interesting.

Mercury in Pisces ~ March 1 to 17, 2010

Mercury breezes through Aquarius and transits Pisces from March 1 to 17. Mercury governs all manners of thinking, communication, schooling, commerce, short travel, and siblings. In the humanitarian sign of Aquarius, Mercury is engaging, intellectual, innovative, unique, uninhibited, excitable, eclectic and electric. In the insightful sign of Pisces, Mercury mellows out a bit with a focus on the internal goings on and how that connects with life in the outside world for us as individuals and as living beings walking our individual paths, together within the same world.

At best, Mercury in Pisces is compassionate, understanding, and enlightened with truth and wisdom that goes far beyond what's tangible or conceivable by the logical mind. At worst, confused, deluded, blinded by faith and unable to function with the realities of living in the external world.

While Mercury is in Pisces, we are reminded to seek out truth beyond the realm of intellect and the tangible world. As humans, we are physical, mental and spiritual beings. We live in a physical world with material needs and wants. We reason, communicate and make decisions using our mental skills. Our spirituality, however, may not be something we connect with daily because its main interaction is within the self. Practice communing with the self more often during the weeks that Mercury transits Pisces. Find a quiet space inside yourself, honor that which gives you life, shows you the way and truly grounds you. Connecting with one's deeper self keeps us in sync so, that the motivation/drives behind our decisions and actions originate within the true desires of the self. Some people call it prayer; others meditation. Whether you call on God or another Deity of your choice or seek connection/counsel with your Divine self, make it a honored practice while Mercury is in Pisces (although a lifelong practice is more beneficial).

On the day Mercury enters Pisces at 8:28 a.m. on March 1st, he quickly finds himself in a pickle with Mars and Saturn (both are still retrograde). Mercury is still adjusting to this personality change (Aquarius is naturally an extrovert, while Pisces is natively an introvert), when he's met with Mars (who may be frustrated that his energy is restrained in this retrograde position), Saturn (who has us reflecting upon the structure of our existing relationships) and whatever issues they are each burdened with. Between March 1 & 2, we may slide into super introspective mode. Don't fight the need for solitude; it might be what's needed to get to clarity or insight. In the same token, do not give in to frustration if you find yourself running in circles, psychologically. Simply and mindfully pull yourself out of whatever thoughts you feel imprisoned by. Breathe in slowly and exhale even slower. Work on something else that needs to get done in the tangible world. We all have our own readiness. Forcing the matter won't be a constructive way to spend time; time is the one thing we don't get back. Spend it wisely. In a few days, Mercury and Pluto get friendly. Pluto's superpower is digging. This would be a better time to peel away at the layers that hide the truth/clarity/insight you seek.

While in Pisces, Mercury will align with the following celestial bodies (all dates reflect North America Eastern time zone; give +/-2 days for life span of influence):
  • March 1 & 2 ~ Mercury quincunx Mars-rx and Saturn-rx. covered above
  • March 4 ~ Mercury sextile Pluto. also mentioned above
  • March 7 ~ Mercury conjunct Jupiter. Happy, happy, joy, joy! Whatever concerns exist, cast them away for today. Embrace the energy Jupiter offers -- expansiveness, opportunities, luck, charm, favor, blissfulness.
  • March 15 ~ Mercury conjunct Uranus and the New Moon Pisces. Oh, the possibilities...expect the unexpected. Do something out of the ordinary today. Venture outside your comfort zone. The heavens dare you.

What significance do planets, signs, and houses have in astrology? Planets have the function, the job to do. The style/manner they will use get that job done is defined by the zodiac sign they occupy. Where in our life the job gets done is determined by the house the planet occupies/transits. So, when Mars (aggression) is in Aries (bold), he is more assertive than when he is in Cancer (sensitive). When traveling through the 10th house (professional life), he may bring his confidence and motivation in matters relating to our career. While in the 11th house (friendships), we may be more inclined to having our social calendar packed with activities. Having the foresight for what may be coming up or receiving confirmation on what may be happening now are ways astrology can be beneficial ... as above, so below.

Full Moon in Virgo ~ February 28, 2010

Image credit and copyright to NatOn February 28 at 11:38 a.m. (EST), the Moon grows full in the sign of Virgo -- perfectionist, exacting, discriminating, analytical. Full moons signify the completion, culmination of what may have been initiated during the previous New Moon in Aquarius which encouraged us to break away, get unstuck and establish a new "norm". During the New Moon phase Neptune and Chiron finally perfected their long awaited conjunction. Their conjunction remain strong and influential for this Full Moon in Virgo.

This full moon occurs at 10 degrees of Virgo and opposes Jupiter while the Sun blends energies with Jupiter. The heart (Moon) may still be meticulously processing (Virgo) what might have transpired over the past two weeks, but the soul (Sun) has begun to hope and dream of the possibilities (Jupiter). In light of the healing/release (Neptune-Chiron conjunction) that's occurred and continuing to work with us, there is now a "newer", improved (or on the mend to become an improved) version of the self with room to rebuild and continue becoming. Elsewhere in the sky, Venus (love/money) grows closer to giving Uranus (surprises/unconventional) a great, big kiss. Expect the unexpected, especially with regards to relationships or finances. Be open to applying unique solutions to common issues or finding just what you need in the most unlikely places.

For me, this Full Moon falls in my natal 12th house (subconscious/hidden) but as a Virgo-rising, also influences my natal 1st house (self/potential) and as a Cancer-Sun, my solar 3rd house (thinking/talking). During this past New Moon phase, I continued to make strides in breaking away from an old routine and establish a new way of conducting my everyday. This Full Moon phase may be spent fine-tuning the changes I've made.

How will this full moon influence your birth chart? Match the sign and degree to determine what house this full moon falls in. Use the list of zodiac signs below to identify the sign Virgo on your birth chart then click here for a brief explanation on the Full Moon transit in that house.

WeeklyScopes ~ February 22 to 28, 2010
Tying Up Loose Ends

It's a relatively quiet week, as we remain under Neptune and Chiron's umbrella of hopefulness and healing. Building upon their influence are the Pisces-Sun and Pluto who are harmoniously linked to one another as the week begins. As I mentioned last week, Neptune and Chiron coming together is a rare event and powerfully offers us the opportunity to break away from that which holds us back, even if it is our own selves. This week, the Sun and Pluto give us a chance to continue digging deep, while also being compassionate with ourselves. We'll need that compassion, as we continue to uncover and bring forth to the surface what's been hiding behind the shadows (our shadow).

For much of the weekend, it might be the Taurus-Moon that gives us grounding. How ironic. The dreamy Pisces-Sun (will) busily antagonizes Mars (aggression) and Saturn (reality), while also happily befriending Pluto (renewal). Unfortunately, this makes the weekend susceptible to disagreements or annoying passive aggression. The Moon's changeable moods are more stable in Taurus which may provide the need for reason and determination in an otherwise purely intuitively-driven weekend.Luckily, Neptune (insight) and Chiron (healing) remain close enough to still blend energies and help with finding resolutions to situations. Adjustment is key to the weekend. Adjust attitudes and point of view to reflect what is truly at the root of any situation, instead of what may be perceived as reality or truth.

Sun in Pisces ~ February 18 to March 20, 2010

Image credit and copyright to Jodie ScottThe Sun leaves the electric sign of Aquarius for the more subdued Pisces on February 18 at 1:36 p.m. EST and will stay through March 20.

The Sun represents our potential, ego, vitality and conscious will. In Aquarius, the Sun is friendly, independent-thinking, original, and a humanitarian with societal ideals that benefit the masses -- emotionally detached but able to be caring with unwavering conviction. In Pisces, the Sun is imaginative, enlightened, sympathetic, creative, hopeful, intuitive, spiritually aware and able to affect change subtly but effectively. At best, the Sun in Pisces is insightful, compassionate, supportive and understanding. At worst, confused, too sacrificial, unrealistic and emotionally burdened by others' troubles.

While the Sun is in Pisces, we are encouraged to connect or reconnect with our own spiritual selves -- the divine within us. It's so easy to become affected by the busy-ness of our everyday. Each moment of the day is already spoken for, sometimes, before we even wake for that day. We are often pulled in many directions throughout the day, as we get on with all that must be accomplished on any given day. We are multi-taskers with mental functions always ahead of where we are actually at. The Piscean Sun reminds us that there is value in "mindfulness", effect in being "present" and that our "grounding" resides within us. Let's take a look and get to know (again) "the man in the mirror," as Michael Jackson first urged us some years ago.

During this period, the Sun in Pisces also shines upon our capacity for compassion to others. These four weeks may be an ideal time to do some volunteer work, participate in grassroots activities for causes that you believe in, connect with others who have similar spiritual pursuits, or just simply doing random acts of kindness within your immediate environment.

While in Pisces, the Sun will make alignments with the following celestial bodies (all dates reflect EST [NYC] time zone; give +/-2 days for life span of influence):
  • February 20 and 21 ~ Sun quincunx Mars-rx and Saturn-rx. Efforts may be working at cross-purposes, especially if actions/decisions are driven by anger or frustration. Adjust attitude. See the tasks as challenges rather than burdensome obligations or restrictions.
  • February 23 ~ Sun sextile Pluto. Time to get to the bottom of things. Digging for truth. Be prepared for what may be discovered. Finding or reconnecting with one's self power. Tapping into hidden but natural potentials.
  • February 28 ~ Sun conjunct Jupiter and Full Moon in Virgo at 11:38 a.m. EST. Coupled with the Full Moon, this is a promising, optimistic time. Confidence without piousness. Overall feeling of well-being. Balance between seeing the big picture and tending to the minutia of details.
  • March 14 ~ Sun conjunct Mercury. Insight. Enlightenment. Clarity of thought and mind. Being at peace with decisions or plans. Communications fluid.
  • March 15 ~ New Moon in Pisces at 5:01 p.m. EST
  • March 17 (March 16 PST) ~ Sun conjunct Uranus. Expect the unexpected. Surprises. In Pisces, uncovering of what's hidden, secrets revealed, do something out of the ordinary. Reinvent yourself. Random acts of kindness.
How will the Sun's transit in Pisces influence in your life? Look to the Pisces-ruled house/s in your birth chart. Match the signs with the house cusps on your birth chart. Use the list of zodiac signs below to identify the Pisces zodiac sign on your birth chart then click here for a brief explanation of the Sun transiting those solar and/or natal houses.

WeeklyScopes ~ February 15 to 21, 2010
Give In

The week starts off with much of the weekend's energies still focused on relationships. Venus and Pluto hook up, and our significant ties gets a deeper look. All the while, Mars and Saturn also link up, and whatever actions or decisions we make have longterm or permanent affects. It's all very optimistic though because Neptune and Chiron finally perfect their union, offering up some hope and much needed healing or release. This is a rare astrological event that's been two years in the making. It is a powerful energy of gaining insight and breaking through. Do not let it pass without making use of it. Give in to the process. Elsewhere in the sky, Venus is also locked in an embrace with the planet of possibilities and happiness, Jupiter, giving support to Neptune and Chiron's efforts.

Neptune Conjunct Chiron ~ February 16 & 17, 2010

It's been a long time coming. What began in 2008 finally meets completion on February 17 EST (February 16 PST). Neptune and Chiron have been slowly moving closer, only to pull away right before they embrace...until now.

In light of last month's lingering but weakening Saturn-rx square Pluto which forced us to clearly see and understand the realities of our situations, we have either steeled ourselves for what lies ahead or decided to crawl under a rock. I hope it is the former; and if it is the latter, cheer up because hopeful days draw nearer. The goal with Saturn-Pluto square is to come to terms with our realities, find the strength and resolve to repair or release what no longer serves, and in that act, become transformed into a version of the self that is moving toward the achievement of their aspirations. Sounds intense and overwhelming. Feels like it, too!

Enter, Neptune and Chiron. Their conjunction picks up where Saturn-rx square Pluto leaves off. We will have had two weeks of reflection. Now we are armed with a clear understanding of where we stand and what work lies ahead. Our commitment in following through remains intact, despite how daunting the tasks may seem. Chiron now extends a helping hand in finally releasing fears, healing past hurts, letting go of mentally wounding thoughts/ideas, and giving up old ways or bad habits. At the same time, Neptune gives us her gift of hope and insight, showing us the truth and reality that go beyond what we can mentally process, visually witness and audibly experience.

Additionally, the energies of Neptune and Chiron's conjunction happens during a new moon phase. Having just occurred on February 13, the Aquarius-New Moon conjoined with Neptune and Chiron. New Moons offer renewals, beginnings, the start of a new cycle. In Aquarius, the New Moon is forward thinking, innovative, unique. These next two weeks are the time to initiate changes, whether it's through planning, deciding, discovering, or acting.

This Neptune conjunct Chiron is the tail end of the rare triple conjunction between Jupiter (ideals), Chiron (healing) and Neptune (hope), which occurred last year. Neptune and Chiron now meet at 27 degrees of Aquarius, returning to the same spot the triple conjunction met last year. This offers us a last look at events, issues or situations that may have been the focus at that time. Can you remember the period on or around the end of May 2009? What has happening then, in your world?

Neptune and Chiron's conjunction perfects on February 17 EST (February 16 PST), but they remain within the same degree of one another until the end of the month and remain tightly linked through to next month. We'll remain under the umbrella of what their conjunction offers us until then. That's a nice 6 or 7 weeks that we have to work with.

Although we can all influenced by this Neptune-Chiron conjunction, those with natal planets and/or house angles on or around 27 degrees of fixed signs may feel its affects stronger than others. Also, those celebrating birthdays between February 13 to 28 may be in for a memorable year. Schedule your session for a Solar Return reading.

As I mentioned on my original post last year, for me, this conjunction falls in my 6th house of work, routine and health. My daily routine and work situation have gone through a metamorphosis since May 2009, when this conjunction's energy was last strongest (even though it never perfected). The changes were initiated by my own decisions and actions from November 2009, when Saturn and Pluto's square first occurred which strongly urged me to establish a new foundation and steer my life in a new direction. Throughout most of last year as my focus was narrowly concentrated on one goal, I neglected caring for myself and adopted terrible health habits. I've already begun to correct this. But with the help of the Aquarius-New Moon plus this Neptune-Chiron conjunction, I hope to keep it up and replace bad habits with a healthier lifestyle.

How will this conjunction influence your chart? Schedule your session for a reading. Or cruise on over to the AstroCreeps and TarotFreaks Forum* to start or join a discussion.

How fitting that the weekend's celestial happenings give a focus to love, relationships and what they entail on this Valentine's Day weekend.

Everyone in the sky above gets in on the action and ready in hand with their message – love's romanticized definition (Venus in Pisces); the commitment and work required within a relationship (Saturn in Libra); the give and take, forgiveness, faith and trust involved (Chiron and Neptune); the emotional/physical connection that goes along with it (Mars); the ability to grow personally as individuals and how that extends to the continual growth of the union (Pluto); and maybe even, the true meaning of unconditional love (Venus in Pisces).

New Moon in Aquarius ~ February 13, 2010

New Moons signify rebirth, beginnings, a clean slate, the start of a new cycle. This new moon highlights Aquarius qualities (inventive, independent thinking, unconventional, humanitarian) and 11th house themes (friendships, group relations, relation to humanity as a whole). Aquarius is natively ruled by Uranus, who is currently in Pisces and receiving mutual reception with Neptune, who governs Pisces and currently in Aquarius. In Aquarius, the Moon is eccentric, unpredictable, fun, friendly, and a humanitarian though emotionally detached.

This Aquarius-New Moon (heart & soul) occurs on February 13 and blends energies with Chiron (wounds/healing) and Neptune (enlightenment/hope), allowing for a renewal in what may be "broken" and need "healing" in our lives. Perhaps, these are deeply-rooted emotional hurts or negative thinking process or antiquated belief systems or an unhappy, recurring cycle. Elsewhere in the sky, Mercury (thought), Venus (love), Mars-rx (drive), Saturn-rx (hard work), Jupiter (opportunities) and Pluto (transformation) make at least one connection amongst each other. Indeed, this new moon phase is poised for making some big changes if we're up to the challenge.

If you need to break away from bad habits, old ways of thinking, toxic relationships and/or overall negativity in your life, this new moon phase is a great time to start! So, go ahead and get unstuck! If you need a little help getting started, try this Tarot Affirmation for The Eight of Wands - Movement written by my friend and colleague, Suzi of Starcana.com.

This new moon occurs at 26 degrees of Aquarius. Those born within 3 days of February 13 or August 18; or have planets/house angles around 26 degrees of Aquarius, Leo, Scorpio and Taurus may feel the effects of this new moon stronger than most. Those celebrating birthdays between February 13 to 28 may be in for a memorable year. Schedule your session for a Solar Return reading.

For me as a Virgo-rising, this New Moon falls right on the very edge of my natal 5th house (fun/creative projects) and conjunct my 6th house (work/health); as a Cancer-Sun, it will shine upon my 8th house (finances/renewals). Over the past year, I had been so focused on day job, astrology work, readings, research and writing that I'd neglected living a more balanced lifestyle. By the third week of January, I began to regain the grounding I seemed to have slowly lost over the past year. These past weeks, I have been painfully reminded and urged t mend my ways, as bouts with migraine began occurring more and more often and lasting longer and longer. My schedule has changed dramatically since the year began, but I remained conducting everything as I had been throughout last year. I am happy to report that I am now working towards a new routine which reflects the changes that have occurred and that fits my present situation better. Hindsight, it's a little silly that I had to suffer through migraines for me to see the bigger picture. But it is understandable with my natal Mercury and natal Pluto squared as both are also conjunct my Midheaven and Ascendant, respectively; that basically means, I get too focused/engrossed & suffer from tunnel vision sometimes :) Although, I did not like Mars being retrograde for quite some time. I have learned to appreciate his retrograde motion and how it's forced me to also slow down and be more reflective.

Venus in Pisces ~ Feb. 11 to Mar. 7, 2010

Venus, the planet of love, leaves the friendly, eccentric sign of Aquarius and joins Jupiter to transit the compassionate, dreamy sign of Pisces from February 11 to March 7. It is said that Venus is exalted (best placement/greatest strength) in Pisces. Perhaps, it's because Pisces has the capacity for unconditional love.

Venus governs how we relate (to others, to our selves), what we value in life (people, things, precepts), how we determine our worth (personal and material). Pisces governs the imagination, dreams, the spiritual/psychological realm and how we are all connected. At best, Venus in Pisces is intuitive, sensitive, loving, caring, romantic, idealistic. At worst, too sacrificial, weak-willed, secretive, too idealistic.

During her stay in Pisces, we are reminded that true love is without conditions. Compassion awakens the humanity in us and shows us that there, too, is purpose and use for kindness in the world. We are also reminded that as we each follow our own paths, we are "connected" in this goal to live our lives, despite our journeys having different paths. No matter we're we have been or where we are now or where we are going, each of us have experienced what it's like to win/lose, to be excited/disappointed, to be content/want more, to be happy/sad, to love, to hurt, to heal.

Tap into your spiritual self while Venus is in Pisces. We are all given intuition in varying degrees and intensity. Some use it more than others and are, therefore, more adept at identifying signs when they are presented. Others have such great intuitive powers that it is simply a part of their everyday, every moment. Whether you have little or much or something in between, celebrate it, make use of it, nurture it.

While Venus is in Pisces, she will make alignments with the following celestial bodies(all dates reflect North America Eastern time zone; give +/-2 days for life span of influence):
  • February 14 to 15 ~ Venus quincunx Saturn-rx and Mars-rx plus trine Pluto. With Mercury trine Saturn-rx while also oppose Mars-rx the past two days, this Valentine's day may have a heavier tone than some might prefer. Relationships built on solid foundation and with healthy communication would most likely fare better. Underlying uncertainty regarding commitment levels or where things stand or whether this is even love are some issues that may surface during these few days.
  • February 16 ~ Venus conjunct Jupiter. A lucky, happy day. Enjoy.
  • March 3 ~ Venus conjunct Uranus. Surprises. Change of heart. Compassion. Random acts of kindness. Humanitarian efforts.
How will this Venus transit influence your birth chart? Look to the natal house/s ruled by Pisces. Match the signs with the house cusps on your birth chart. Use the list of zodiac signs below to identify the Pisces zodiac sign on your birth chart then click here for a brief explanation.

Mercury in Aquarius ~ Feb. 10 to Mar. 1, 2010

After an extended stay in disciplined, sensible and responsible Capricorn, Mercury welcomes the freedom-loving, "out of the box" thinking, and eclectic Aquarian ideals. Mercury governs thinking, communicating, writing and transportation. In Capricorn, Mercury is determined, focused, conservative and purposeful. In Aquarius, Mercury is friendly, quirky, progressive, independent and with strong humanitarian ideals. At best, Mercury in Aquarius is inventive, intellectual, experimental, caring while remaining detached. At worst, scattered, opinionated, chaotic, too idealistic, promotes change at any and all cost.

Mercury enters Aquarius on February 10th at 4:06 a.m. EST, where he remains until March 1st. During his stay in Aquarius, we are encouraged to expand our minds, breaking through metaphorical walls, and expand our social circle to venture beyond our typical hangouts or preferred crowd/situation. Try seeing existing situations from a different set of eyes with a different set of rules or perhaps no rules. Brainstorm unique solutions to common but lingering problems. Discuss or ponder upon alternative ways of doing something ordinary.

While Mercury is in Aquarius, he will make alignments with the following celestial bodies (all dates reflect North America Eastern time zone; give +/-2 days for life span of influence):
  • February 12 and 13 ~ Mercury trine Saturn-rx and oppose Mars-rx. Oh just in time for Valentine's day :) Saturn in Libra's influence may have us thinking about the relationships we have in our life -- marriage, intimate relationship, business partnership, etc. Mars in Leo's influence require balance between our thoughts/plans/communication and actual action/final decisions.
  • February 27 ~ Mercury conjunct Chiron and Neptune. Break away from old ways of thinking. Create a new established norm. Release antiquated methods or process of doing things. Time for renewal. Healing. Release. Ideal for helping others and humanitarian efforts. Compassion. Understanding.

WeeklyScopes ~ February 8 to 14, 2010

It seems that the worst is behind us. Venus conjoins with Chiron ad Neptune, giving us hope that whatever may be “broken” will not remain so. All that's needed is our commitment to the cause.

Mid-week, Mercury enters the brainy, friendly sign of Aquarius after an extended stay in disciplined Capricorn. Our minds are free to roam and conversations are free to express without the Capricorn conservative restrictions, which is timely because Mars decides to get in a ruckus with jovial Jupiter. Inhibitions lifted. In Leo, Mars, though retrograde, is up for some fun and spontaneity. Venus changes signs and enters Pisces on Thursday, giving matters of love a dreamy outlook; and in matters of finances, we're apt to give in and shop or be extra generous, especially to those less fortunate than ourselves.

LuvScopes Posted! ~ February 5 to 7, 2010

Take a deep breath in. Exhale ever so slowly. *ahhh* There it is ... that proverbial light at the end of the tunnel. Although lingering, the major strain of Saturn and Pluto is behind us (for a few months). This weekend, Jupiter (ideals) swoops in to the rescue, giving us a more optimistic outlook on whatever difficulties the past few days/weeks may have brought. His efforts are supported by Mercury (communication), who aligns harmoniously with Uranus (surprises), and Venus (love), who blends energies with Chiron (healing) and Neptune (hope).

Jupiter Sextile Pluto ~ February 6, 2010

Photo credit and copyright to Michal Karcz
The planet of ideals and opportunities (Jupiter) in the sign of the enlightened one (Pisces) gets friendly with the planet of power and transformation (Pluto) in the sign of the achiever (Capricorn). If you're feeling beaten up by the strain between retrograde-Saturn and Pluto which has hovered over most of January and finally culminated (again) last weekend, well, breathe a sigh of relief because Jupiter now offers us a glimmer of hope.

At the same time that Jupiter gets happy with Pluto, he is also somewhat challenging Saturn. So, while the energy between Saturn and Pluto is harshly shining a spotlight at the structural cracks to our foundation, Jupiter's links to Pluto and Saturn give us the bright light of optimism. No matter how ugly the truth may be and/or how overwhelming the tasks are before us, we are encouraged to be inspired by the promises of the changes we are making.

In their joint efforts, Jupiter and Saturn show us the realities/restrictions of our situations; Jupiter and Pluto help us eliminate personal blockages we've been encountering. Jupiter assures us that opportunities will come our way. We must, then, learn to become aware and recognize the doors (or windows) opening for us; and as we receive what's offered, we remain committed to cause, ready to take on the next set of tasks! The New Moon in Aquarius next weekend (Feb. 13) supports Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto's efforts in helping us initiate actions to get this moving along!

This meeting between Jupiter and Pluto occurs at 5 degrees of Pisces and Capricorn, respectively. Although, we can all benefit from their energies, those with natal planets and/or house angles on or around 5 degrees of mutable and/or cardinal signs may feel the effects stronger than others. Additionally, those who are celebrating a birthday on or a day before February 6 may be in for a memorable year.

For me, most of my friends and readers know that the tension between retrograde-Saturn and Pluto have been squeezing me these past few weeks. It's been incredibly trying. I've been facing issues that are the result of decisions I made back in November, when Saturn and Pluto first had their conflict. As I have mentioned before that as I reflect upon the choices I've made with Saturn and Pluto revisiting last fall, I'm now ever more assured that I have chosen wisely for myself. The next months leading up to August, when Saturn and Pluto reconnect for the last time, will be creating/solidifying new foundation and making things work. Wish me luck :) Needless to say -- this glimmer of hope that Jupiter is offering -- I welcome with big, wide open arms!
