Third time's a charm? Mercury (mental activity) blends energies with Saturn (reality/structure) on October 7 and 8 for the third time since August this year. Both planets are in the practical and meticulous sign of Virgo and their cohesion represent mental concentration that produces solid, well-thought out plans and ideas. There is a serious tone to this meeting, a strong sense of getting things in order. And rightly so, with Mercury into his second week of full forward motion again plus Mars' (action) growing sextile to Saturn, getting details squared away mentally well enough to devise a thorough plan of action become priority.

The timing is remarkable. As Mercury and Saturn join forces to solidify ideas, make informed choices, anticipate problems, and sort through possibilities, Mars' growing link to Saturn incites the eagerness for action and getting things started. Then as we approach the perfection of this Mars-Saturn link on October 12, acting upon what Mercury-Saturn came up with is sure to produce intended and lasting results.

Mercury and Saturn first met together on August 17, followed by September 22 when Mercury was retrograde. Perhaps this time around, their meeting will bring resolution to something that was first introduced or reviewed in August.

This meeting occurs at 28 degrees of Virgo on October 8 at 2:34 a.m. Eastern (October 7 at 11:34 p.m. Pacific). Although we are all influenced by this Mercury-Saturn conjunction, those born within 5 days of September 18; or those with natal planets/house angles on or around 28 degrees of mutable signs (Virgo, Pisces, Gemini, and Sagittarius) may feel the effects of this conjunction more strongly than others.
