After an extended stay in disciplined, sensible and responsible Capricorn, Mercury welcomes the freedom-loving, "out of the box" thinking, and eclectic Aquarian ideals. Mercury governs thinking, communicating, writing and transportation. In Capricorn, Mercury is determined, focused, conservative and purposeful. In Aquarius, Mercury is friendly, quirky, progressive, independent and with strong humanitarian ideals. At best, Mercury in Aquarius is inventive, intellectual, experimental, caring while remaining detached. At worst, scattered, opinionated, chaotic, too idealistic, promotes change at any and all cost.Mercury enters Aquarius on February 10th at 4:06 a.m. EST, where he remains until March 1st. During his stay in Aquarius, we are encouraged to expand our minds, breaking through metaphorical walls, and expand our social circle to venture beyond our typical hangouts or preferred crowd/situation. - February 12 and 13 ~ Mercury trine Saturn-rx and oppose Mars-rx. Oh just in time for Valentine's day :) Saturn in Libra's influence may have us thinking about the relationships we have in our life -- marriage, intimate relationship, business partnership, etc. Mars in Leo's influence require balance between our thoughts/plans/communication and actual action/final decisions.
- February 27 ~ Mercury conjunct Chiron and Neptune. Break away from old ways of thinking. Create a new established norm. Release antiquated methods or process of doing things. Time for renewal. Healing. Release. Ideal for helping others and humanitarian efforts. Compassion. Understanding.

What significance do planets, signs, and houses have in astrology? Planets have the function, the job to do. The style/manner they will use get that job done is defined by the zodiac sign they occupy. Where in our life the job gets done is determined by the house the planet occupies/transits. So, when Mars (aggression) is in Aries (bold), he is more assertive than when he is in Cancer (sensitive). When traveling through the 10th house (professional life), he may bring his confidence and motivation in matters relating to our career. While in the 11th house (friendships), we may be more inclined to having our social calendar packed with activities. Having the foresight for what may be coming up or receiving confirmation on what may be happening now are ways astrology can be beneficial ... as above, so below.
