Has it been a long 3 1/2 weeks? Surprisingly, this has been a productive Mercury retrograde period for me. I still had delays, repeats, miscommunication, and misunderstandings, but decidedly less cumbersome than past periods. In addition to my natal Gemini-Mercury, as a Virgo-rising, both my Ascendant (self/potential) and Midheaven (goals/future) are Mercury ruled; hence, resulting in greater chances of being adversely influenced when Mercury slows down. Earlier in the week, one of my Twitter pals posted a comment that this is by far "the best" Mercury retrograde period for her. I'm inclined to agree!
How were these past few weeks for you?
Well, for those who cannot quite agree with me, thank the heavens Mercury stations today and will soon be zipping through the zodiac signs once again. At 9:21 p.m. (Eastern) tonight while at 22 degrees and 52 minutes in Taurus, Mercury halts, gets his bearings, and prepares to move forward. He was at this same spot last month on April 22. Events or issues surrounding that period may resurface now.
Elsewhere in the sky as Mercury changes direction, combat ensues between the Gemini-Sun (conscious will) and Virgo-Moon (inner drives). Both Gemini and Virgo are Mercury-ruled signs. So, it's a battle of wills; who will win? Head or heart? In Virgo, the Moon is analytical so, my bet would be on the Sun. Simultaneously, the Moon moves closer to blend energies with Saturn, where our emotions may be stunted from being expressed. Since Mercury is still getting used to the change in his pace and direction, be mindful and continue to choose our words wisely when expressing our thoughts. More optimistically, we continue to be under the Jupiter, Chiron, Neptune conjunctions giving us the opportunity for healing, enlightenment, and hope for improved lives.
Mercury in Taurus reflects a strong mind that is determined, persistent, patient, practical, and reliable. With his forward movement, what we may have reviewed, re-planned, re-structured, and redefined during the retrograde period may just be ready for implementation within the next few days once Mercury gets adjusted to his normal speed.
On June 13, Mercury re-enters Gemini. He may revisit events surrounding April 30th which was when he first slipped home to Gemini this year. In Taurus, our minds are offered stability; in Gemini, our minds are quick-thinking, our words playful, thoughts varied, and approach friendly. We may have more sparks of ideas but lack the steadiness of Taurus to make them stick. Jot down brilliant ideas and you're sure to get it created, developed, and executed.
Those with personal planets/house angles between 22 degrees of Taurus and 2 degrees of Gemini may feel Mercury's movement more strongly through to the end of the retrograde cycle on June 15 which includes the shadow period.

On a separate note, in addition to Mercury's direction change, Chiron in Aquarius stationed this morning and will be retrograde until October 31, 2009.
