Full Moon in Libra ~ April 6, 2012

Scales via Tattoo Donkey

Full moons signify the completion, culmination of what may have been initiated during the previous new moon in Aries which encouraged us to not only make a change, but also to have a plan and be smart about the actions we take. This full moon illuminates upon the balance between the identity of the individual self with the shared self (who I am and who I am with another) -- being in relationships without losing our identity and/or being brave enough to be in relationships without compromising our own core values.

The Full Moon in Libra occurs at 18° on April 6th at 12:19 p.m. Pacific / 3:19 p.m. Eastern. Those born within 3 days of April 6 or October 10 or with natal planets and/or house angles on or around 18° of cardinal signs may feel the effects of this full moon stronger than others.

Elsewhere in the sky, retrograde-Mars (motivation/action), Venus (relationships/finances), Neptune (dreams/sacrifice) and the North Node (life path) are all locked in an intense mutable grand cross. In previous posts, I explained a grand cross as the combination of (at least) four squares and (at least) two oppositions. A square is the most difficult and challenging relationship between two planets. It is an impatient energy that requires action. It is conflict, war between two (or more) celestial bodies. There is a need to create something birthed from inside us and to manifest that creation out into the world -- may it be in your own personal world, your immediate environment or something that influences many. An opposition is a tense relationship between planets that require balance. Unlike a square where agreeing to disagree is sometimes the best solution that can be hoped for, an opposition can be satisfied by finding the harmony/balance between the two polarizing energies. This full moon phase can be one filled with insight (Neptune) about the true state of our relationships or finances (Venus) which may trigger aggression/determination/action (Mars) that help ultimately result in a change in our life direction (North Node). However, with Neptune, there is a thin line between insight and illusion; recognizing truth and escapism; vision and delusion; intuition and denial. Whether this Libra-full moon proves to be a help or a fruitless difficult experience is really quite up to you.

For me, this Full Moon opposes my natal Moon (heart/emotional core) and squares my natal Mars, triggering the mutual reception (give and take energy) and square (tense/aggressive energy) between my natal Cancer-Mars and Aries-Moon; and falls in my natal 1st house of the self/will (as a Virgo-rising) and solar 4th house of family/feelings (as a Cancer-Sun). Transiting Uranus continues to square my natal Sun while opposing my natal Uranus, forming a cardinal square which shoves my natal Sun up against a wall that aid in causing a very trying day to day for me!

The waxing moon grows full in the bold, courageous, and magnanimous sign of Leo. Full moons signify the completion, culmination of what may have been initiated during the previous new moon in Aquarius which encouraged us to dream big, get out of a rut, and get unstuck. This Full Moon in Leo wonders whether we are brave enough to follow through on our intentions/objectives and dares us to be courageous enough to walk the talk.

We're already into the second month of the year. How have we fared so far with our good intentions of making this a different year than previous years? If you started off the year taking steps toward achieving resolutions, then you're well on your way, especially if you've successfully integrated changes into your everyday. Kudos!

But then again, maybe you're like me ... I do really well a week at a time but only every other week :) Life, work, friends, family ... still doing our best with the balancing act and injecting personal improvements when the opportunity arise. Is this effort good enough though? In the immediate, maybe. In the longer term, however, it will only work if we learn to create the opportunities, make the time, put the self higher up on the list of priorities.

During this full moon phase, put an end to the excuses (even if they are good ones :). Be like Nike and just do it! You can make this the year that you envisioned it to be.

This full moon happens on February 7th at 1:53 p.m. PST / 4:53 p.m. EST and at 19° of Leo. Those born within 3 days of February 7th or August 10th or with natal planets and/or house angles on or around 19° of fixed signs may experience the effects of this full moon stronger than others.

For me, this Leo-Full Moon trines my natal Moon and squares my natal Saturn; as a Virgo-rising, falls in my natal 11th house (friendships/associations) and as a Cancer-Sun, falls in my solar 2nd house (income/possessions). What may be well with my heart (trine to my Moon) may not necessarily be what works, what's right or what should be (square to my Saturn). Or perhaps, what I truly desire presently is just not possible for now. But then again, I may get I wish for only to find out that the reality of it may be more than I bargained for :) With the 2nd house in play, I'll keep the spending minimal.

Full Moon in Cancer ~ January 8/9, 2012

Parthenon Moon by Anthony Ayiomamitis via APOD

Full moons signify the completion, culmination of what may have been initiated during the previous new moon in Capricorn which might have shown us underlying truths, whether we wanted to know or were to find out about. This Full Moon in Cancer encourages us to do something about it, whatever "it" might be for each of our situations. Make a choice. Take action. Find closure/release.

The Moon is at home in Cancer and shines a spotlight on our family life, inner sanctum and emotional self. The Cancer-Moon (inner self) seeks balance with the Capricorn-Sun (external drives) while also making a friendly connection with Mars (motivation). In Cancer, the Moon is emotionally-driven and is motivated by considering the needs of others, especially family. There might be a tendency for protection -- keeping the family safe/secure or self-protection from hurt/disappointment. With Mars also going retrograde before month's end, events/issues surrounding this full moon may resurface around this time again next month. However, this full moon might play out in your world, let your actions (Mars) reflect your heart (Moon) and soul (Sun).

This Full Moon occurs at 19 degrees of Cancer on January 8th (11:30 p.m. Pacific) / January 9th (2:30 a.m. Eastern). Those born within 3 days of January 8 and June 9 or with natal planets and/or house angles on or around 19 degrees of cardinal signs may feel the effects of this full moon stronger than others.

For me, this Full Moon forms a cardinal t-square (challenging energy) with my natal moon, is conjunct (blends energies) my natal Mars, and as a Cancer-Sun, falls in my solar 1st house (self/potential) and as a Virgo-rising, falls in my natal 10th house (future plans). Perhaps it's time to stop fighting against what in my heart, I know, is true and must be done. Make time. Make it happen. It might not be easy, but what worthwhile thing does not involve sweat and commitment, right?

Full Moon in Capricorn ~ July 14/15, 2011

With the last of the Cancer-Capricorn eclipses behind us, this is the first Full Moon in Capricorn that is not an eclipse since 2009. Full moons signify the completion, culmination of what may have been initiated during the previous New Moon/Solar Eclipse in Cancer which offered us the chance to face our realities and rise up to the challenges ahead (square to Saturn), without losing sight on what gives us hope and healing (links to Jupiter and Chiron).

The Moon represents our heart, emotions, private life, inner drives, and is natively governed by sensitive and nurturing Cancer. In Capricorn, the zodiac sign opposite Cancer, the Moon feels emotionally restricted but focused on the tasks at hand. This Full Moon in Capricorn encourages us to acknowledge our realities, face our fears, and rise above them without losing our openness to love and compassion along the way. Let's not become jaded or calloused because of the hardships we've lived through and continue to face.

This Full Moon occurs on July 14 at 11:40 p.m. (Pacific) / July 15 at 2:40 a.m. (Eastern) at 23° of Capricorn. Those born within 3 days of July 14 and January 12 or with natal planets and/or house angles near 23° degrees of cardinal signs may feel the effects of this full moon stronger than others.

Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius ~ June 15, 2011

March 21, 2011 Supermoon at Glastonbury via Anorak News

March 21, 2011 Supermoon at Glastonbury via Anorak News

Here comes the second of three consecutive eclipses this summer (or whatever season it may be in your part of the globe :) This is also the first Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius in the Gemini-Sagittarius series of eclipses that began December 21, 2010. The most recent eclipse occurred just two weeks before on June 1st with a Solar Eclipse in Gemini.

Here's a little recap of what eclipses represent in astrology. The days, sometimes weeks, approaching to an eclipse create intense and impatient energy. There's a bit of chaos and the feeling/fear of being out of control with what's happening all around, especially in each of our immediate environment and personal lives. This might be because eclipses, in astrology, are accelerators. They speed up events, issues, situations in our personal lives and demand for them to be dealt with. Eclipses are supercharged full and new moons with influence extending up to six months.

The degree of difficulty depends on the readiness of the individual to tackle these challenges, his/her willingness to do the work required, and his/her commitment to the cause/s which is really the self and its growth. The level of influence an eclipse or set of eclipses have also depends on individual birth charts.

That said, let's move on to this month's Full Moon in Sagittarius (at 1:14 p.m. PDT / 4:14 p.m. EDT), which also happens to be a Lunar Eclipse (at 1:12 p.m PDT / 4:12 p.m. EDT). Full Moons signify endings, the culmination of what may been initiated during the previous New Moon in Gemini, which challenged us to 'see' things/situations/events for what they really are and no more turning a blind eye or escaping in wishful thinking, but instead, time to break away from what's been holding us back.

This Eclipsed Sagittarius-Full Moon (heart/inner core), while seeking balance/harmony with the Gemini-Sun (soul/conscious will) and Mercury (mind/communication), comes ever so close to blending energies with the Sagittarius-North Node (life direction). Many of us may find ourselves questioning where we're going or how we may be planning to get to our desired destination and whether this is the best course of action. Others may be realizing what they've been working towards are no longer what they're passionate about or what gives them joy/contentment. There are those who might also find that the choices they've made have brought changes that may be challenging, but also exciting and fulfilling. However this Lunar Eclipse may play out in your world, listen to your heart if it is tugging at you. Also, let's be mindful of improving our internal dialog and external interactions, then shift our perspective to 'see' the bigger picture, so that your choices/actions may reflect your ultimate goal/s.

This Full Moon Eclipse occurs at 25 degrees in Sagittarius. Sagittarians born around December 16 and Geminis born around June 15, along with those who have planets/house angles around 25 degrees of mutable signs may experience this lunar eclipse more powerfully than others.

For me as a Virgo rising (click here for my chart), this eclipsed full moon falls in my natal 3rd house (thought/communication) but is also conjunct my natal 4th house (family/home; where I've been) and seeking balance with issues in my 9th (personal growth/experiences) and 10th (career/future goals; where I'm going) houses. This Sagittarius-Moon, Gemini-Sun, Mercury and North Node stimulate my natal Pluto (endings/transformation) and natal 1st (self/potential)/7th (relationships) houses, too; and forms a cardinal t-square with my natal Pluto and ascendant (1st house) as focal points. Couple this with the existing long term transits in full force with my birth chart; and this summer/rest of year may just be as 'challenging' and full of 'opportunities' for growth as the second half of last year was when my solar return happened alongside the 2010 cardinal t-square/cross & Cancer-Eclipsed New Moon intensity. Whew! I'm tired already :)

Full Moon in Libra ~ April 17, 2011

The moon, seen from Terminal 3 of Manchester Airport, rises from behind the hills of the Peak District via Anorak News

Full moons signify the completion, culmination of what may have been initiated during the previous new moon in Aries which encouraged us to just do it! This Full Moon in Libra casts a spotlight on our relationships (with one another as well as with ourselves), our value system (what we value in life and why), and our worth (materially and spiritually speaking). In our relationships with others, the Libra-Full Moon may be shining upon issues about balancing the identity of the individual self with the shared self -- being in relationships without losing who we are and being brave enough to be in relationships without compromising our core values or silencing our voices/desires for the sake of another.

Elsewhere in the sky during this full moon, Saturn (reality/commitment), who is also in Libra, is locked in a challenging alignment with Mercury (thought/communication) who is in Libra's opposite sign, Aries. Both planets are retrograde (introspective). We may very well have love and relationships on the mind -- the relationship we have or wish we had, the commitment and hard work that goes in to a fostering healthy connections, and/or how our relationships have changed us -- for ill or for good.

This Full Moon occurs at 28 degrees of Libra on April 17 at 7:44 p.m. PDT / 10:44 p.m. EDT. Those born within 3 days of April 17 or October 21 or with natal planets and/or house angles on or around 28 degrees of cardinal signs may experience the effects of this full moon stronger than others.

For me as a Cancer-Sun, this Full Moon falls in my solar 4th house of home and family, the past, my roots. Family ties can get complicated. That's an understatement :) Love and obligations, intertwined. Communication/ideologies get lost within the generational and cultural gaps. Religion divides. And still through it all, I am the dutiful daughter; my sister, the understanding one; my brother, the bridge; and our mother doing her best to be a better parent to us than hers might have been. We all mean well. Hearts in a good place. But it's all still complicated. hmm...

Full Moon in Virgo ~ March 19, 2011

Virgo Moon image credit and copyright to shonski32 via flickr

On the last day the Sun transits Pisces, the Moon waxes and becomes full in Virgo. Full moons signify the completion, culmination of what may have been initiated during the previous new moon in Pisces which encouraged us to get in touch with our 'higher self', show compassion, and seek the truth that lies deep within our heart and soul. During the Pisces-New Moon, the North Node (life path) aligned with Neptune (enlightenment) and Uranus (awakening). Their alignment remains strong and is joined by this Full Moon in Virgo who squares the North Node, opposes Uranus and is quincunx Neptune.

The Virgo-Full Moon picks up where the Pisces-New Moon phase leaves off. The heart (Moon) may still be meticulously processing (Virgo) what might have transpired over the past two weeks, but the soul (Sun) seems to 'understand' the 'truth' without the need for words or logic (Pisces). Harmony and balance between intellect/intuition and being practical/having faith will be necessary to make the most of this full moon phase. Those who feel like they're at a crossroads in their life might experience the impact of this Full Moon in Virgo stronger than most.

This Full Moon occurs at 29 degrees of Virgo on March 19 at 11:10 a.m. PDT / 2:10 p.m. EDT. Those born within 3 days of March 19 or September 22 or or with natal planets and/or house angles around the late degrees of mutable signs or early degrees of cardinal signs may feel the effects of this full moon phase more pronounced than others.

For me as a Virgo-rising, this Full Moon falls right in my natal 1st house (the ego, the self, my potential); as a Cancer-Sun, in my 3rd house of (thought, communication); and happily aligns with my Neptune. This all happens in the backdrop of transiting Neptune continuing to square my natal Neptune. *pbbbbt* Well, I might as well pull out my crystal ball and get some direction that way! I don't really have a crystal ball but would be cool if I did :) I am a Cancer-Sun and do listen/actively use my intuition. Although, my Virgo-ascendant plus Gemini-Mercury aren't always too comfortable with too much 'woo woo' in conducting my own personal life. It seems that this full moon focuses on that part of my chart/makeup in another attempt (for I'm sure there have been other times) to help me reconcile both those parts of me. oh, joy :p

Full Moon in Leo ~ February 18, 2011

Leo tattoo via f*yeah tattoos

The Moon waxes to full on February 18 at 12:36 a.m. PST / 3:36 a.m. EST. Full moons signify the completion, culmination of what may have been initiated during the previous new moon in Aquarius which encouraged us break away from old ways, bad habits, unhealthy ties, and seek a new way of being/living/seeing/thinking/interacting. This Full Moon in Leo dares us to be courageous enough to walk the talk ... live the dream.

This full moon's Aquarius-Sun (soul/conscious will) conjuncts (unites with) Neptune (dreams/enlightenment), Mars (action/motivation) and semi-sextile Uranus (radical, revolutionary change) while Leo-Moon (heart/inner drives) opposes Neptune/Mars and quincunx (frustrating) Uranus (who is in the last degrees of Pisces). With Neptune and Uranus also semi-sextile (opportunities coming out of difficulties) each other and in mutual reception, it's time say goodbye to what has been, what no longer serves, what's become unhealthy and seek out new horizons, change in perspective, expand consciousness.

Elsewhere in the sky, the square (conflict) between Jupiter (expansion/opportunities) and Pluto (purging/transformation) gains strength as they get closer to perfecting their link on February 25th. This square may be reminiscent to July and August 2010 when they last connected in the same manner. Their square was a part of a bigger, more intense energy that also involved Saturn in Libra and Uranus in Aries (at the time), battling it out in a Cardinal T-Square. Some of us may be faced with something we were dealing with around that period. Perhaps, now it's a look back to see how far we've come. Or a startling wake up call that we remain in the same unpleasant situation. However, this energy plays out in your life, don't judge yourself or others too harshly. Instead, seek to find a way to improve your situation...something that you have the power to do, to act upon. Let the change begin with the self.

This Full Moon occurs at 29 degrees of Leo. Those born within 3 days of February 18 or August 22 or with natal planets and/or house angles on or around late degrees of fixed signs or early degrees of mutable signs may feel the effects of this full moon phase stronger than others. In addition, the Jupiter-Pluto square strongly influences cardinal signs born within the early degrees between zero to seven; they may also experience the impact of this full moon phase greater than others.

For me, as a Virgo-rising, this Full Moon falls in the 12th house of my subconscious. Mindfulness. Getting back to the basics - breath. I'm notorious for biting off more than I can chew. I start projects or commit my time to a new challenge always thinking there's enough time and energy for me to follow through :) Then, my mind gets too busy thinking of this and that while I'm doing something altogether different. I become disconnected to my present moment. This full moon phase will be a welcome reminder for me to gain my grounding and clarity through breath, being present in the moment.

Full Moon in Cancer ~ January 19, 2011

full moon via tinypic
The Moon heads home to Cancer for the first full moon of 2011 on January 19 at 1:21 p.m. PST / 4:21 p.m. EST. Full moons signify the completion, culmination of what may have been initiated during the previous eclipsed new moon in Capricorn which encouraged us to rise up and meet the challenges we may be facing now. This Full Moon in Cancer reminds us to make use of our emotional intelligence (EQ) instead of relying solely or heavily on our intelligence quotient (IQ) alone.

The Sun in Capricorn is ambitious with a methodical approach to achieve its objectives. Hence, the Capricorn-Sun can be unyielding to change, especially if methods have proven successful in the past. The energy of Cancer-Moon is the polar opposite. It is changeable to its moods which are motivated by its heart, inner drives, and deep desires. It functions through its emotions/sensitivities and by exercising its strong intuitive ability.

With the Capricorn-Sun (soul/will) opposing the Cancer-Moon (heart/inner core), there's a focus on the harmony and balance between pragmatism and reason with intuition and heart. This full moon also links up with Jupiter (ideals/opportunities) and Uranus (awakening/radical change). A little luck and a lot of openness to change hold promises of success through work and commitment, relying on all our natural talents and resources -- mentally, as well as emotionally. Becoming sensitive to the energies of our environment and the people surrounding our situation/s can offer insight and information that logic and reason might otherwise miss.

There is a deeper connection to their link with Jupiter and Uranus. This full moon triggers the conjunction between Jupiter and Uranus which remain influential despite having peaked on January 4 ... which also happens to be the same day when the New Moon/Solar Eclipse in Capricorn occurred. There is greater emphasis to whatever may have been seeded or impressed upon you, personally or professionally, during the new moon phase. Be open and aware to what the next phase may be or what this full moon phase might have in store for you. There's an ebb and a flow to life, to breath, to living ... be sensitive to it and trust your EQ to support the goals of your IQ :)

This Full Moon occurs at 29 degrees of Cancer. Those born within 3 days of January 19 or July 22 or with natal planets and/or house angles around 29 degrees of cardinal signs or within the first 3 degrees of fixed signs may feel the effects of this full moon stronger than others.

For those interested or unfamiliar with EQ, here's a short but informative article on it from EQ Coach, Susan Dunn - "EQ vs. IQ"

Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse in Gemini ~ Dec. 21, 2010

Full Moon

This year, the Sun makes a grand gesture before leaving Sagittarius and entering Capricorn. On December 21st, at 12:13 a.m. PST / 3:13 a.m. EST and while at 29 degrees, the Gemini-Moon waxes to an Eclipsed-Full Moon. This is the first of the Gemini/Sagittarius set of eclipses that will last until 2013. The Sun enters Capricorn on the same day at 3:38 p.m. PST / 6:38 p.m. EST.

Full moons signify the completion, culmination of what may have been initiated during the previous New Moon in Sagittarius which encouraged us to get past seeing where we might have failed or have been disappointed, but instead use what we now know and understand to make plans for the upcoming year. This is the last full moon of 2010, and it is also a lunar eclipse! Per my original post on understanding eclipses:

Eclipses, in astrology, are accelerators. They speed up events, issues, situations in our personal lives and demand for them to be dealt with.

Eclipses trigger necessary changes to one's journey in life. Because these changes are triggered outside of one's own volition, they are often harsh, sudden and undeniable. The initial shock evoke sadness, confusion, frustration, anger, worry and, possibly, depression. However, it is our reaction past the initial shock that defines how we will allow these eclipses to influence us.

Gemini governs thought, ideas, communication, interaction, education, and short travel. Sagittarius is Gemini's opposite sign and governs philosophy, religion, spirituality, personal growth through experiences, higher education, and long distance travel. The Gemini-Sagittarius set of eclipses highlights the polarity between Gemini and Sagittarius and finding the balance between the two. At the core, Gemini and Sagittarius focus on the mental process. While Gemini represents logical thinking and knowledge, Sagittarius expands upon what Gemini knows and understands by searching for meaning and a higher purpose. Knowledge alone isn't enough. Wisdom must also be applied.

With the Gemini-Moon opposing the Sagittarius-Sun, the Sun's need to inspire and aspire seeks harmony and balance with the Gemini-Moon's need to apply logic and reason. Just a few hours before the Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse, the Gemini-Moon connects with Neptune (the enlightened one), Chiron (the wounded healer), and Uranus (the awakener). The influence of the Moon's link to these celestial bodies continue to linger and mixes with the energy of the Eclipsed-Full Moon. Elsewhere in the sky, Neptune and Chiron make their own connection, reminiscent of their alliance earlier this year and offer up hope and healing where needed; while retrograde-Mercury (ruler of Gemini) squares (in conflict) Jupiter (ruler of Sagittarius), even their rulers are not playing too nicely with each other. But they are challenging one another to consider that there's more to whatever's going on than meets the eye; perhaps, there are alternatives that haven't been thought of yet; or maybe, opportunities/solutions can be found when least expected.

As previously mentioned on prior posts, including the New Moon in Sagittarius article, Jupiter and Uranus remain very close to each other (within a two-degree orb):their conjunction grows stronger and perfects on January 4, 2011, the same day as the New Moon Eclipse in Capricorn. This conjunction between Jupiter and Uranus encourages us to delve deep within the part of us that we don't normally take enough time to tap into. By seeking deep within, we enable ourselves to access and become aware of hidden motivations/drives/desires, which help in giving us a more complete picture of what we may want or hope for in this life...right now. Why am I talking about this conjunction? Because this energy between Jupiter and Uranus in Pisces surrounds this Eclipsed-Full Moon in Gemini, just as it had the Sagittarius-New Moon, and we're able to make use of it if so choose it.
So, as we close out 2010, let's also close out any thought processes that keeps us blind to truth or to whatever else is out there that can be of use to us/can be of help to us. With the Sun and Moon in zodiac signs that represent the mind; the Moon still affected by her links to Neptune, Chiron and Uranus; Mercury squaring Jupiter; and Jupiter-Uranus collaborating, let's challenge ourselves to quit limiting ourselves by sticking to what we know. Let's be mindful that there are still experiences we've yet to have and these experiences expand our knowledge, foster personal growth and give us greater wisdom. But we can't have these experiences if we are unwilling to step out beyond what we already know and are comfortable with.

This Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse occurs at 29 degrees in Gemini on December 21 at 12:13 a.m. PST / 3:13 a.m. EST. Those celebrating a birthday within 3 days of December 20 may be in for an exciting year! And those with natal planets/house angles at 29 degrees of mutable signs or within the first 3 degrees of cardinal signs may experience the effects of this eclipsed full moon more powerfully than others.

Full Moon in Taurus ~ November 21, 2010

On November 21st at 9:27 a.m. PST / 12:27 p.m. EST, the moon waxes full in the sign of Taurus. The Moon is said to be exalted (best placement) in comfort-seeking Taurus. Taurean energy gives the Moon's fluctuating moods and sensitivities some semblance of stability and grounding.

Full moons signify the completion, culmination of what may have been initiated during the previous new moon in Scorpio which reminded us that it's never too late to make a change. This Full Moon in Taurus squares Neptune (hope) and Chiron (release), daring us to take a look at what we've got, then go ahead and let go of what we no longer need or what keeps us from making the necessary changes, despite how difficult it might be to give up what's been so familiar...comfortable.

Much like the Aries-Full Moon last month, this Taurus-Full Moon also occurs at 29 degrees. Those born within 3 days of April 19 or November 21 or with natal planets and/or house angles on or around 29 degrees of fixed signs may feel the effects of this full moon stronger than others.

For me, this Taurus-Full Moon, along with Neptune & Chiron, square my natal Neptune; and falls in my natal 9th house of personal growth (as a Virgo-rising) and solar 11th house of friendships (as a Cancer-Sun). I've been under the umbrella of Neptune square natal Neptune all year and this full moon is just kicking everything up a notch. Between being under the umbrella of Pluto (purging) opposing my Sun (conscious will) and Uranus (awakening) also currently trine my Neptune, anything goes :) Since this is also a "9" year for me in numerology which is generally about letting go, this Taurus-Full Moon is not-so-subtle "nudge, nudge" for me to get it together ... whatever else I need to get let go of/come to terms with/release, get it done already!

Full Moon in Aries ~ October 22, 2010

Equinox & the Harvest Moon by Tamás Ábrahám via APOD

Full moons signify the completion, culmination of what may have been initiated during the previous new moon in Libra which illuminated our relationships of all types -- intimate, platonic, business, familial, and even those with our enemies. This second Full Moon in Aries picks up to complete/complement the Libra-New Moon by highlighting the balance between the self (who I am) and the shared self (who I am in a relationship); the potential of our individual selves and our partnerships; and the consideration of another's needs as they pertain to our own basic needs. Last month's Full Moon on September 23 was also in Aries.

As written on last month's Aries-Full Moon post, which remain true for this week's full moon:

Coupled with Saturn also transiting the partnerships sign of Libra, where he's whipping us all into shape with lessons in love, relationships, commitments, partnerships, equality and objectivity, this full moon touches upon our relationships and perhaps, finally making the long overdue necessary changes. Time to grow up -- whether it's taking things to the next level of commitment; learning to accommodate, compromise, communicate; standing up for one's self; or however this full moon may play out in your life.
This second Aries-Full Moon falls in the anaretic (degree of fate) at 29 degrees of Libra, which also falls within 3 degrees within a critical degree (stress point) of for cardinal signs. Most astrologers also consider the 29th degree a critical degree. Anyway, this begins a series of Full Moons at 29 degrees; the next is on November 21 in Taurus, followed by December 21 in Gemini, which also happens to begin the Gemini-Sagittarius eclipses lasting about 3 years.

When any celestial body is at 29 degrees, it is restless in the sign it's in and cannot seem to get satisfaction because its energies are drawn by and more stimulated by next zodiac sign it's about to enter. In this full moon's case, that next sign is Taurus. Our conscious will sees the potential of the self and its relationships. There's the need to take an active part on repairing strained relations, renewing stale ones, strengthening an already solid one or maturing the self to meet the needs of a relationship. The ultimate goal being something more stable and grounded, on the inside and out.

Elsewhere in the sky on this full moon are Mars (action) in a challenging link to Neptune (insight) and Chiron (healing), while also engaged in a growing harmonious link to Uranus (unpredictability). All the while, Pluto (upheaval) and the North Node (life path) get even closer to each other. During this full moon phase, as we become awakened/enlightened (Uranus/Neptune) to what we want going forward for our life's journey (North Node), we may find that following this requires sacrifice, commitment and hard work, at the very least (Chiron); and we face an inner battle of wills (Pluto) -- to follow (Mars) our inner drives and give in to it what it requires or not. With Uranus at play, expect the unexpected -- may it be help or being of help or designing plans to base actions on, breaking away from what you've been holding on to tightly, or gaining freedom from what binds, etc.

Those with natal planets/house angles on or around 29 degrees of cardinal signs or within the first 2 degrees of fixed signs may experience the impact of this full moon stronger than others.

For me as a Virgo-rising, this Full Moon falls in my natal 8th house (purging/debt) and, as a Cancer-Sun, in my solar 10th house (goals/career); it opposes my natal Jupiter and quincunx my Neptune, which in my natal 3rd house (thought/communication). Something comes to a close with my relationship to money and future/career plans. I may need to give up, perhaps momentarily, on whatever plans I may have originally had. I'll be required to be more open to changing or tweaking my plans. It is my resistance to the deviation to what I may have wanted, in addition to how I react to disappointments that things didn't work out as expected, that will decide on how much more difficult or how smooth this transition will be fore me.

Full Moon in Aries ~ September 23, 2010

Moonrise, Cape Sounion, Greece. Credit & Copyright to Anthony Ayiomamitis via APOD

Full moons signify the completion, culmination of what may have been initiated during the previous new moon in Virgo which highlighted communication, analyzing situations prior to making judgements or taking action, being practical and encouraged us to be of service to service. This Full Moon in Aries highlights the balance between the self (who I am) and the shared self (who I am in a relationship); the potential of our individual selves and our partnerships; and the consideration of another's needs as they pertain to our own basic needs.

This is the first of two full moons occurring in Aries this year, giving this lesson on learning to balance the self and its needs/wants within relationships -- may they be intimate, platonic, familial or business. Next month's full moon in Aries will be on October 30.

On this occurrence, the Aries-Full Moon forms a Cardinal T-square with Pluto in Capricorn. Energies may be reminiscent to the strained Cardinal T-square experienced from July to August between Saturn in Libra (replaced by the energy of the Libra-Sun) opposing Jupiter/Uranus in Aries (substituted by the Aries-Moon) who were all square Pluto, then retrograde, in Capricorn. Perhaps, a conclusion, closure or "reaping of what was sown" is happening now which might also be related events or issues from as early as June.

This full moon happens just a few hours after blending energies with Jupiter and Uranus in Pisces, prior to the Moon's entrance in Aries. Jupiter (ideals/opportunities) and Uranus (awakening/radical change) are still in a tight conjunction, offering us an extra lending hand to tap into the blessings of their collaboration ... optimism and faith that there is life after whatever it is that may be ending or culminating and getting ready for the next phase.

This Aries-Full Moon occurs at Aries Point on September 23 at 2:17 a.m. PST / 5:17 a.m. EST. Those born within 3 days of March 21 or September 23 or with natal planets and/or house angles on or around zero degree of cardinal signs and 27-29 degrees of mutable signs may experience the effects of this full moon stronger than others.

Additional note for those with natal planets or house angles in late degrees of mutable signs. The conjunction between Jupiter and Uranus is currently touching your birth chart. With the help from the alliance between Jupiter and Uranus, you can further benefit from this full moon phase (September 23 to October 7) if you choose to make use of this energy during this period.

For me, this Full Moon falls in my natal 7th house of partnerships (as a Virgo-rising) and my solar 10th house of career/future goals (as a Cancer-Sun). Towards the end of June and around the time when the Capricorn-Lunar Eclipse occurred, I made a decision to move back to my hometown and be closer to family. At the end of July and under the tense energy of the Cardinal T-square, I made the move. Now, almost two months since my relocation, I'm still working towards a routine of some sort with both my personal and professional life. The plans I've made have either concluded or need to be abandoned because they either did not pan out or must be reconfigured to fit my current situation.
