This month's Full Moon in Aquarius on August 5 (at 8:55 p.m. Eastern) is also a Lunar Eclipse (at 8:39 p.m. Eastern); so, that's three eclipses in a row! A rare event ... It's preceded by the Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn on July 7 & Solar Eclipse in Cancer on July 21. In astrology, eclipses act as catalysts, accelerating events, to help point us earthlings toward the "right" direction (read more about eclipses in astrology here).
The Moon represents our heart, private life, and inner drives. Full moons signify the completion, culmination of what was initiated during the previous New Moon. The New Moon/Solar Eclipse in Cancer encouraged us to initiate, or at the very least, embrace the inevitable changes necessary to foster personal growth. This Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse illuminates Aquarius' humanitarian ideals while supporting Cancerian concerns and seeking balance with the Leonine Sun's individualistic goals. Since there are no other celestial bodies linking to this eclipsed full moon, its power and influence are concentrated. How can individual (Leo) contribution/care (Cancer) make a difference on a larger scale (Aquarius)? How this eclipsed full moon will influence each of us depends upon where it falls in our individual charts. Being the last of the Leo-Aquarius eclipses, this eclipse brings an ending to issues brought up and being worked out within our respective chart houses since this eclipse cycle began on February 2008.
This penumbral lunar eclipse occurs at 14 degrees in Aquarius. Although, we can all benefit from this energy, those born within 3 days of February 3 or August 5, or those with natal planets/house angles at 14 degrees of fixed signs (Aquarius, Leo, Taurus, Scorpio) will undoubtedly feel this lunar eclipse's influence stronger than most.
For me, this eclipsed full moon falls in my natal 5th house (Leo's house of creative projects/love/children) and solar 8th house (transformation/finances); is at odds with my natal Venus (relationship/finances); but in harmony with my natal Chiron (wounds/healing) & Moon (heart/inner drives). Release and healing from the inside (Chiron & Moon) open doors for me to receive the good things in life and love (Venus).
Since this eclipse cycle began last year,
- I've reconnected with my passion for astrology (natal 5th/Leo ideals) and with helping people through astrology (11th house/Aquarian ideals);
- I've been able to release some wounds attached to the unexpected loss of a beloved child (natal 5th/solar 8th); and
- I've endured unprecedented fluctuations in my finances (solar 8th).
